A professor at the University of Connecticut who is Muslim has retired after students complained he forced them to recite an Islamic prayer and remove their shoes before entering his office.
Felix Coe, a former biology professor, taped two signs to his office door. One poster asked students to declare “Bismillah,” which translates to “In the name of Allah,” upon entering his office, and the other commanded visitors to remove their shoes before entering, according to Campus Reform.
In an undated video shared in mid-June by Jihad Watch, Coe told an unsuspecting student who was trying to find another professor to not “come in my office with dirty shoes” because it’s “a curse.” He told her so after forcefully commanding her to “get the hell out” of his workspace.
