Jenn Jackson

Syracuse University

Dr. Jenn M. Jackson is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and a Senior Research Associate at the Campbell Public Affairs Institute at Syracuse University. According to her university biography, Dr.Jackson’s research and teachings are focused on “black politics, gender and sexuality, political behavior, public opinion, and mixed methods.”

During the rioting that following George Floyd’s death, Professor Dr. Jackson described police officers on her personal Twitter account as “employed in an institution meant to eradicate Blackness.”

According to a study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, The Federalist found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.

Dr. Jackson further defended the rioter’s vandalism and looting, describing it as a justified response to white supremacy.

Update:

On September 10th, 2021—just before the twentieth anniversary of the terrorist attacks—Dr. Jackson tweeted that she was “disturbed” by how many “white pundits and correspondents” still talk about 9/11.

In the same thread—that was first made private by Dr. Jackson but is still available as of September 2021—she declared the 9/11 attacks in New York City as an “attack on heteropatriarchal capitalistic systems.”

Shortly thereafter, Dr. Jackson then made her Twitter account private following a backlash to her remarks, although her account is now public.
