Mr. Gabriel Gipe is an AP Government Teacher at Inderkum High School. The school is part of the Natomas Unified School District in Sacramento, California.

In a video clip released by Project Veritas, Mr. Gipe is heard bragging about his affiliations with Antifa and his eagerness to indoctrinate students.

As reported by The Post-Millennial, leaked emails from the Department of Homeland Security show that law enforcement agencies identify Antifa as an organization that engages in “organized” rather than sporadic violence. Many members arm themselves with knives and firearms to violently confront conservatives at events. In the Summer of 2021, members of Antifa attacked Senator Rand Paul and his wife as they walked through Washington D.C.

When sitting down for a conversation with an undercover Project Veritas reporter, Mr. Gipe describes himself politically, “as far left as you can go.” Continuing, he depicts his fantasy involving taking up arms and overthrowing the government in a communist revolution.

Throughout the video, Mr. Gipe can be seen wearing a shirt adorned with red and black flags and the slogan, “antifaschistische aktion.” The phrase and symbol were originally used by the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) in the 1920s and early 1930s. Founded, funded, and directed by the Soviet Union—and working alongside a fledgling NAZI party— the KPD hoped to spark a communist revolution in Germany that would overthrow the Weimar Republic.

In the video, Mr. Gipe can be heard describing his involvement both in Antifa groups throughout California and in organizing protests against right-wing groups in Sacramento. He proceeds to describe how he lists left-wing events on his classroom whiteboard—including Antifa protests—and bribes his students by offering them extra credit to attend.

As for students that object to his positions, Mr. Gipe describes to the reporter how he publicly shames them in class. When a student posted an anonymous comment decrying the Antifa flag hung in the classroom, Mr. Gipe brags that he read the comment aloud to his class before implying the student must be a fascist.

Mr. Gipe’s statements are corroborated by pictures provided to Project Veritas that show the flag of Antifa hanging prominently in his classroom. Also displayed is a portrait of the Chinese dictator, Mao Zedong. Mr. Gripe can be heard praising China, Mao, and the Cultural Revolution throughout the video.

Mao—who chaired the Chinese Communist Party from 1935 until his death in 1976—is widely considered one of the deadliest heads of state in history–an estimated 65 million Chinese citizens perished from his regime. During the cultural revolution, Mao enlisted students—dubbed the “Red Guard”—to target teachers, intellectuals, workers, government officials, and civilians deemed insufficiently supportive of the Communist Party. Millions were publicly shamed; an estimated 1.5 million were killed before the purges ended in 1976.

UPDATE

The Natomas Unified School District has released a statement in response t0 the Project Veritas video. The district announced that all posters had been cleared from Mr. Gipe’s wall. Natomas Unified additionally stated they would be taking the “legally required” steps to place Mr. Gipe on unpaid leave and eventually fire him.

Gabriel Gipe is no longer a teacher a no longer a teacher at Inderkum High School. In exchange for his resignation, Gipe will receive $190,000, or roughly three years of salary.
