<a href="https://www.valdosta.edu/biology/faculty-staff/leslie-jones.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leslie Sandra Jones</a> is a Professor in the Department of Biology at Valdosta State University.
Jones described herself as a “white-cisgender female” to the <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20221114142344/https://www.ajc.com/education/valdosta-profs-woke-lesson-draws-parent-fire-free-speech-support/PAFZGGRNYFBB7NEJLKNKM4NYHM/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Atlanta-Journal Constitution</a> (AJC). She further characterized her lectures as “anti-racist” and reflective of her “commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion on behalf of those who face discrimination and racism:” 
“I am not administering a left-wing agenda in my class. I teach them about important social values that affect all of us in Georgia.” 
According to the AJC, Jones is now under review by the university for teaching gender as a social construct that’s not rooted in biology. 
Throughout her “Cultural Construction of Gender,” in her Evolution and the Diversity of Life course. Jones touched on “gender roles, distinctions, socialization, and gender identity.” 
The AJC reports that Jones defined terms like cisgender, transgender, gender fluid, non-binary, agender, gender neutral, and genderqueer in her class. She also taught about sexualities such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual. 
In an interview with <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/professor-under-fire-for-teaching-gender-is-a-spectrum/">The College Fix</a>, Jones claimed that sex is not a dichotomy. 
“&#8230;I teach them very clearly in one lecture that sex is biological. Sex is not dichotomous. When I teach them sex and gender, I teach them really carefully that sex is not a dichotomy.”  
She continued:
“Everybody thinks there’s only male and female, but that’s not true,” Jones added. “Sex is very much bimodal and emotionally they’re males and females, but there are a lot of things that can happen in sexual development that can lead to intersex conditions. There are even human hermaphrodites.” 
Jones is represented by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), who allege the University is unconstitutionally forcing Jones to alter her course.

In October 2022, Shahriari <a href="https://bobrtimes.com/mcgill-prof-praises-iranian-womens-deaths-on-twitter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted his support</a> of the Iranian government’s brutal treatment of protestors. He rejoices that people will be killed, and calls their death, “sweet.”

His comment references <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/iran-mahsa-amini-death-protests-morality-police-criticism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the protests that erupted</a> after the Iranian morality police killed 22-year-old Mahsa Amini for allegedly breaking the regime&#8217;s dress code. According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency, <a href="https://www.iranintl.com/en/202210146202" target="_blank" rel="noopener">at least 224 people have been killed</a> during the government crackdown. 
His tweet has been deleted alongside his other social media pages and university page. McGill University has not commented on whether Shahriari is still employed. 
The University <a href="https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/mcgill-investigating-tweet-by-instructor-who-allegedly-promoted-violence-against-iranian-protesters-1.6099411" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released the following statement,</a> &#8220;As we have reminded our community, it is crucial for all of us to remember the importance of procedural fairness and to take into account the wide protection offered to free expression in our society, even when such expression is distasteful or disturbing.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.minneapolis.edu/profiles/shannon-gibney">Shannon Gibney </a>is a Professor at the Minneapolis Community &amp; Technical College. Gibney has been reprimanded for racial harassment against white male students. Fortunately, the school did make attempts to discourage her behavior, but she is a repeat offender. She has now been formally reprimanded multiple times for racial harassment.

<a href="https://www.ursinus.edu/live/profiles/4008-johanna-mellis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Johanna Mellis</a> is an Assistant Professor of History at <a href="https://www.ursinus.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ursinus College</a> in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Much of her work surrounds European history during the Cold War as well as Sports and Olympic History.
In a syllabus provided exclusively to the Professor Watchlist by an anonymous source, Dr. Mellis explicitly states that certain viewpoints will be prohibited in her class. The course in question is tilted, “HIST/GWSS-377 The Cold War in Europe: Immigrants, Labor, and Gender.”
According to the syllabi, the course will help students “reflect” on their “pro-Western biases” regarding the Cold War.

Among the required reading, Dr. Mellis assigns the article, “<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20210202122324/https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/12/opinion/why-women-had-better-sex-under-socialism.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Why Women Had Better Sex Under Socialism</a>.” Published in the New York Times in 2017, the piece argues that women enjoyed sexual equality and more rights under Communism than their counterparts in Western nations.
Under the section, “Online Course Expectations,” Dr. Mellis addresses each student who is, “experiencing the pandemic and the anti-racist uprisings.” She is referring to the then-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots occurring throughout the summer and fall months of 2020 as the course was conducted.

According to a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist</a> found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>
Dr. Mellis had voiced support for the riots, tweeting the “racial uprisings” were “much needed” and “heartening.”

In one section of the syllabus, titled “Inclusion Statement,” Dr. Mellis writes that she strives to create a classroom where everyone feels “safe and valued” and asks each student to “show respect to others.” Continuing, she states, “Viewpoints that oppress others—specifically those that reinforce white supremacist culture—will not be tolerated.&#8221;

<a href="https://www.ursinus.edu/live/profiles/4008-johanna-mellis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Johanna Mellis</a> is an Assistant Professor of History at <a href="https://www.ursinus.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ursinus College</a> in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. Much of her work surrounds European history during the Cold War as well as Sports and Olympic History.

In a syllabus provided exclusively to the Professor Watchlist by an anonymous source, Dr. Mellis explicitly states that certain viewpoints will be prohibited in her class. The course in question is tilted, “HIST/GWSS-377 The Cold War in Europe: Immigrants, Labor, and Gender.”

According to the syllabi, the course will help students “reflect” on their “pro-Western biases” regarding the Cold War.

Among the required reading, Dr. Mellis assigns the article, “<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20210202122324/https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/12/opinion/why-women-had-better-sex-under-socialism.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Why Women Had Better Sex Under Socialism</a>.” Published in the New York Times in 2017, the piece argues that women enjoyed sexual equality and more rights under Communism than their counterparts in Western nations.

Under the section, “Online Course Expectations,” Dr. Mellis addresses each student who is, “experiencing the pandemic and the anti-racist uprisings.” She is referring to the then-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots occurring throughout the summer and fall months of 2020 as the course was conducted.

According to a <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study conducted by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED)</a>, BLM can be linked to 95% of the riots around the country–notably in Summer 2020 following the death of George Floyd. In an analysis of the study, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/16/study-up-to-95-percent-of-2020-u-s-riots-are-linked-to-black-lives-matter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Federalist</a> found, “of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter Activists.” The resulting riots were the largest in American history, <a href="https://fee.org/articles/george-floyd-riots-caused-record-setting-2-billion-in-damage-new-report-says-here-s-why-the-true-cost-is-even-higher/#:~:text=Only%20now%20are%20we%20beginning,%241%20billion%20to%20%242%20billion." target="_blank" rel="noopener">causing an estimated $2 billion in damages and 47 deaths.</a>

Dr. Mellis had voiced support for the riots, tweeting the “racial uprisings” were “much needed” and “heartening.”

Cameron Awkward-Rich is an <a href="https://www.umass.edu/wgss/member/cameron-awkward-rich" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Women, Gender, Sexuality Students</a>, in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is also a member of the LGBTQ community and uses the pronouns he/him. 

Awkward-Rich conducts research in the areas of trans/feminist/queer theory, black studies, poetry, and experimental writing to explore transgender aesthetics and cultural production.

Awkward-Rich teaches “<a href="https://www.umass.edu/wgss/sites/default/files/assets/wgss/wgss_393t_-_awkward-rich_cameron_-_reading_transgender.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reading Transgender</a>,” a discussion-based course focusing on contemporary LGBTQ literature. Her course titled “<a href="https://www.umass.edu/wgss/sites/default/files/assets/wgss/297tc_intro_to_trans_studies_syllabus_-_awkward-rich.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Introduction to Transgender Studies</a>” is designed to answer questions such as: “What does trans mean and how has its meaning been shaped by regimes of gender, racism, colonization, ableism, and medical and legal regulations?”

Awkward-Rich is an author and spoken-word artist who <a href="https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cameron+awkward-rich" target="_blank" rel="noopener">uses live monologues to air thoughts</a> on “white privilege,” sexual experiences, and LGBTQ issues. Awkward-Rich also hosts a personal website <a href="https://www.cawkwardrich.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cawkwardrich.com</a> that connects readers to poetry communities.

Awkward-Rich joined another author to read poetry and answer questions in a <a href="https://youtu.be/II_wQSndZpI" target="_blank" rel="noopener">virtual book festival</a>. During the Q&amp;A, an attendee asked about the epigraph in Awkward-Rich’s book “Dispatch” — the inscription addresses <a href="https://encyclopediavirginia.org/entries/notes-on-the-state-of-virginia-1785/#:~:text=Notes%20on%20the%20State%20of%20Virginia%2C%20by%20Thomas%20Jefferson%2C%20is,American%20book%20written%20before%201800." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Thomas Jefferson’s Notes on the State of Virginia</a>. 

Awkward-Rich says, “I kept running into [a] quote [of his] over and over again. And at first it was like, obviously this is racist. In an article for The Guardian, Dr. Estes describes the country <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/apr/27/only-racist-ignorance-lets-rick-santorum-think-america-was-birthed-from-nothing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">as a “white supremacist empire,” and a “savage nation built on untold violence” against indigenous people</a>.

His post further demands the “Right of Return,” which calls for the forcible relocation of over 7 million self-identifying Palestinian “refugees” into Israel’s current borders. This would demographically swamp Israel and transform it into a majority-Arab state.  
Dr. Estes further cites <a href="https://therednation.org/revolutionary-socialism-is-the-primary-political-ideology-of-the-red-nation-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“revolutionary socialism</a>” as the “primary political ideology of the Red Nation.” He declares Communism the “greatest expression of love,” and promises that socialism will replace capitalism once the latter is destroyed. 
Throughout the site, the Hammer and Sickle is <a href="http://therednation.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">displayed prominently</a>. The symbol was the insignia of the Soviet Union, which was responsible for as many as <a href="https://fee.org/articles/the-staggering-toll-of-the-russian-revolution/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">61 million deaths</a>.

Bendickson requires all of his students to pick a topic from a list, which includes ‘why Native American mascots should be banned from sports,’ and explain in the assignment why it is important. A counter-argument was not allowed.

<a href="https://globalstudies.uchicago.edu/people/rebecca-journey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rebecca Journey</a> is a Teaching Fellow in the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. Journey teaches a course in the Critical Race and Ethnic Studies program titled “The Problem of Whiteness.”

The <a href="http://collegecatalog.uchicago.edu/thecollege/comparativeraceethnicstudies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">course description</a> states “whiteness has long functioned as an “unmarked” racial category” and has “resurfaced as a conspicuous problem within liberal political discourse.” The seminar will examine “the problem of whiteness through an anthropological lens, drawing from classic and contemporary works of critical race theory.”

Daniel Schmidt, a sophomore student at the University of Chicago, <a href="https://www.yaf.org/news/uchicago-professor-seeks-discipline-action-against-student-who-exposed-her-racist-course/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared details about the course</a> in a <a href="https://twitter.com/RealDSchmidt/status/1587557829476777984" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter thread</a> that went viral.

After the post, Journey claims she received death threats and was the victim of online harassment. According to the <a href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/education/2022/11/19/23467967/whiteness-course-triggers-online-harassment-death-threats-university-chicago-instructor" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chicago Sun-Times</a>, Journey defended the course saying, “The class is emphatically not about ‘the problem with white people.’ The class approaches whiteness as a problem in the philosophical sense of an open question …[with] whiteness as an object of critical inquiry.”

Professor Journey believes that Schmidt “deliberately misrepresented” her course “to stoke white grievance on social media:”
“I want to stress that these attacks are the direct consequence of this student’s targeted cyberbullying campaign. This was a malicious attack not just on me as a teacher but on anti-racist pedagogy writ large.” 
The University of Chicago issued a statement supporting Journey and the “freedom of instructors to teach any course that has been developed through our faculty-led curricular process.” However, Journey is calling for disciplinary action against Schmidt, saying the university should issue a public condemnation of the student’s actions.

The course is scheduled to begin in Spring 2023.

The class itself was uploaded by Barry Mehler to his personal Youtube account. When the video begins, Dr. Mehler is seen wearing a face shield and face mask while recording in an empty room.
Dr. Mehler begins his lecture by warning that the air we breathe is dangerous, claiming that this is why “experts” continue to advise wearing masks at all times. Continuing, he states that our civilization is collapsing and that our species is going extinct.
After welcoming students to the class, Dr. Mehler launches into a profanity-laced polemic describing how he is “beholden to no c*ck-sucker” and no one in the university administration will tell him how to teach his class. He proceeds to describe his students as “vectors of disease” and states that he “no longer gives a flying f*ck,” as he is retiring at the end of the year.
Dr. Mehler further adds that students have no control over their grades in class—no matter how hard they work—admitting he assigns grades on the first day at random.

He was <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2016/11/21/rutgers-places-adjunct-leave-tweets-he-says-were-based-rhetoric-president-elect">placed</a> on administrative leave from Rutgers 2016, and <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4750992/Former-Rutgers-professor-fired-tweeting-kill-Trump.html">fired from Montclair State</a> University after threatening to kill Trump.

<a href="https://sociology.rutgers.edu/faculty/affliliated-graduate-faculty/541-kumar-deepa">Dr. Deepa Kumar</a> is a Professor of Media Studies as well as Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University. She argued on Twitter that the U.S. military is worse than ISIS. Kumar wrote on Twitter, "Yes ISIS is brutal, but US is more so, 1.3 million killed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan."

<a href="http://womens-studies.rutgers.edu/faculty/core-faculty/143-jasbir-puar">Dr. Jasbir Puar</a>, a professor at Rutgers University, was invited to speak at Vassar. Her lecture was titled “Inhumanist Biopolitics: How Palestine Matters.” In her lecture, she accuses Israel of “stunting” growth of Palestinian bodies through scientific experiment as well as harvesting their organs.

<a href="http://www.kevin-allred.com/">Kevin Allred</a> was an adjunct instructor at Rutgers University. He underwent a psych evaluation after a series of questionable and possibly threatening tweets relating to Trump and the Second Amendment. He also went to Twitter after the election to complain that Rutgers had not publicly ensured the safety of students after Trump won. He also teaches a class called "Politicizing Beyonce". He was <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2016/11/21/rutgers-places-adjunct-leave-tweets-he-says-were-based-rhetoric-president-elect">placed</a> on administrative leave from Rutgers 2016, and <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4750992/Former-Rutgers-professor-fired-tweeting-kill-Trump.html">fired from Montclair State</a> University after threatening to kill Trump.

<a href="https://rcws10.rutgers.edu/faculty/Chikindas/">Professor Michael Chikindas</a>, Rutgers University, posted frequent anti-Semitic comments, at one point referring to Jewish people as “international fat Jewish pockets.” “These jewish [sic] motherf*****s do not control me. They can go f**k each other in their fat a***s - you see, I really do not have anything to loose [sic], hence nothing to be controlled,” he wrote in response to an article titled “The Globalists: Who Control Us!”.

<a href="http://history.rutgers.edu/faculty-directory/174-markowitz-norman">Dr. Norman Markowitz</a> is a Professor of History at Rutgers University. Dr. Markowitz is also an active member of the Communist Party USA since 1978.  He writes and teaches about communism using his “Marxist Perspective.” As a supporter of Obama, Markowitz said that it would be good if Obama’s policies were labeled socialist because it would bring socialism to the forefront and looked at more seriously as a viable option for Americans. He has been a longtime defender of the Communist spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, and has said he has “enormous respect” for Howard Zinn, a Marxist historian.

<a href="http://www.polisci.rutgers.edu/cb-profile/userprofile/whfield">Dr. William Field</a>, a professor at Rutgers University, sent out an email to all political science majors and minors to protest against Condoleeza Rice serving as their commencement speaker. He was also said to have congratulated one of the lead organizers of the protest who had damaged university property.

<a href="https://law.rutgers.edu/directory/view/mbk69" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Margo Kaplan</a> is a Professor of Law at <a href="https://law.rutgers.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rutgers University Law School</a> in Camden, New Jersey. According to her university biography, she teaches courses on “Criminal Law, Health Law and Policy, and Sex Crimes” and explores the “legal limitations on intimate decisions.”

Dr. Kaplan has spent her academic career attempting to normalize pedophilia. In a paper for the <a href="https://scholarlycommons.law.wlu.edu/wlulr/vol72/iss1/4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Washington and Lee Law Review</a>, she advocates for the reclassification of pedophilia as a mental disorder so that pedophiles may be awarded more civil rights:

“...we should not categorically deny pedophilia the civil rights protections afforded to other mental disorders without a convincing normative justification supported by cogent scientific evidence. Strengthening civil rights protections for those with pedophilia also increases access to treatment and support that helps prevent child abuse.”

In a similar piece for the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/06/opinion/pedophilia-a-disorder-not-a-crime.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/06/opinion/pedophilia-a-disorder-not-a-crime.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Times</a>—titled, "Pedophilia: A Disorder, Not a Crime,"—Dr. Kaplan attempts a sickening effort to lure readers into sympathizing with pedophiles by characterizing pedophiles as adolescents with harmless, childhood crushes.

“THINK back to your first childhood crush. Maybe it was a classmate or a friend next door. Most likely, through school and into adulthood, your affections continued to focus on others in your approximate age group. But imagine if they did not. By some estimates, 1 percent of the male population continues, long after puberty, to find themselves attracted to prepubescent children. These people are living with pedophilia, a sexual attraction to prepubescents that often constitutes a mental illness. Unfortunately, our laws are failing them and, consequently, ignoring opportunities to prevent child abuse.”

Her intellectual sleight of hand is prevalent in both pieces. Kaplan blames the abuse of children partially on what she views as the severity in which society treats pedophilia, resulting in pedophiles abstaining from seeking treatment.

When later interviewed by <a href="https://www.phillymag.com/news/2014/10/06/pedophilia-not-a-crime-rutgers-margo-kaplan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philadelphia Magazine</a>, Dr. Kapland claimed to be “shocked” at the amount of support she had received, accusing critics she did have of not even reading her article.

<a href="https://history.rutgers.edu/people/faculty/details/1143-bray-mark">Mark Bray</a> is a part-time lecturer in the Department of History at Rutgers University.

Bray first gained notoriety in 2017 when he <a href="https://www.mhpbooks.com/books/antifa/">authored</a> "The Anti-Fascist Handbook," and offered to <a href="https://campusreform.org/?id=14972">donate</a> half of the proceeds to ANTIFA.

Bray fully endorses ANTIFA’s embrace of violence as a tactic, and often describes it as “self-defense”. He has <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=9616">stated</a> that in order to “preemptively” shut down far-right events and gatherings,  “physical violence against white supremacists is both ethically justifiable and strategically effective.”

Soon after publication, he appeared on NBC to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/antifa-violence-ethical-author-explains-why-n796106">defend</a> the use of force against opposing protestors. He claimed that as an illiberal organization, ANTIFA has and will continue to shut down the free speech of the far right.

Bray recently penned an op-ed in the <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2020/06/01/trump-antifa-terrorist-organization/">Washington Post</a> in the midst of mass-rioting following the death of George Floyd. After expressing sympathy with the looters, Bray claims that police officers are, in fact, deadlier than ANTIFA.  He wrote, “...and in the United States, ANTIFA have never killed anyone, unlike their enemies in Klan hoods and squad cars.” 

After his views were <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/red-alert-politics/dartmouth-president-disavows-professor-justified-antifa-violence-self-defense">condemned</a> by Dartmouth University - his employer at the time - Bray soon began lecturing at Rutgers, where his university biography describes him as a “historian of human rights, terrorism, and politics in Modern Europe.”

<a href="https://asianlanguages.rutgers.edu/menu-i/69-richard-vanness-simmons">Richard VanNess Simmons</a> is a professor of Chinese and East Asian Studies and serves as the <a href="https://www.ciru.rutgers.edu/about-us/people-2">Director of the Confucius Institute</a> at Rutgers University. The Confucius Institute is funded by the Chinese Communist Party and serves as a focal point for the dissemination of propaganda and foreign espionage on American campuses.

Ms. <a href="https://crimjust.rutgers.edu/people/faculty-directory/details/30-faculty/faculty/620-erakat-noura">Noura Erakat</a> is an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Rutgers University. According to her university profile, Professor Erakat specializes in fields that include international law, humanitarian law, human rights law, national security law, refugee law, and critical race theory. A harsh critic of the state of Israel, the professor has repeatedly demonized and called for the destruction of the only Jewish state in the world.

Professor Erakat’s work frequently characterizes Israel as a racist state that is equivalent to the apartheid-era South African government. In a November 2019 interview with DemocracyNow, she stated, ”<a href="https://www.democracynow.org/2019/11/19/noura_erakat_israeli_settlements_trump_announcement">we are witnessing the entrenchment of an apartheid regime</a>, and the U.S. [is] at the helm of that process.”

Professor Erakat repeats this false claim to justify her support of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. In a November 2020 video panel discussion with the Middle East Institute, Professor Erakat calls on the world <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S7ZkKMFUuU&amp;t=3956s">to resist and alienate Israel via adherence to a BDS platform</a>.

BDS—short for Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions—supporters embrace the following three tenets as a feature of the campaign:

- Boycotting all goods that originate from the state of Israel;

- Divesting all funds (private or public) that are allocated to Israel; and

- Placing sanctions exclusively on Israel.

Mr. Omar Barghouti, a co-founder of the BDS movement, admits that the ultimate outcome of these steps is the <a href="https://twitter.com/StandWithUs/status/1267561561565958144">dismantlement of the state of Israel</a>.

Professor Erakat likewise calls for Israel to be destroyed and replaced by an Arab-majority Palestinian state. As reported by The Spectator in July 2019, Ms. Erakat spoke at an event in Washington, DC, where she <a href="https://spectator.org/noura-erakat-recounts-her-anxiety-over-israels-existence/">advocated for Arabs to “help indigenize” Jews in Israel </a>in order to achieve a sole Palestinian state or a “one-state solution.”

Professor Erakat is far more brazen in calling for the outright destruction of Israel when speaking at anti-Israel protests around the country. During one march in May 2021—captured by News2Share—she called for the <a href="https://twitter.com/FordFischer/status/1393739882825195521/">liberation of Palestine, “from the river to the sea.</a>”

According to the Israeli newspaper Arutz Sheva, the chant, “from the river to the sea,” was <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/291203">popularized by terrorist groups such as the Palestinian Liberation Organization</a> (PLO). The phrase alludes to the destruction of Israel—and thus the genocide of the nation’s Jews—between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1948/08/02/archives/aim-to-oust-jews-pledged-by-sheikh-head-of-moslem-brotherhood-says.html">The chant is thought to originate from the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan el-Banna</a>, who was qouted by The New York Times stating, "If the Jewish state becomes a fact, and this is realized by the Arab peoples, they will drive the Jews who live in their midst into the sea."

Even though Professor Erakat can be heard calling for the “denuclearization of Israel” in the same speech, she had in 2013 <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I20HOx5zfv0&amp;ab_channel=JFhsfohhMN">condemned efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program as “racist</a>.”

She further <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tv/CMzhsZtBfgg/?igshid=5p918cganhq1">defended this position</a> in a video uploaded to her Instagram in March of 2021, arguing there is no contradiction in opposing sanctions for Iran while supporting sanctions on Israel.

During a separate march in May of 2021,  Ms. Erakat can be heard chanting “By spirit and by blood, we redeem you, Palestine!” in front of the Israeli Embassy.

In April of 2020, Noura Erakat’s cousin, Mr. Ahmed Erakat, was killed after <a href="https://www.algemeiner.com/2020/06/29/palestinian-rams-a-checkpoint-death-lies-and-videotape/">ramming his car into an Israeli checkpoint during a failed terrorist attack</a>. Despite the publication of footage verifying the incident and a pipe bomb later being found in the van by investigators, Ms. Erakat continues to claim that he was murdered by Israeli forces.

Dr. James Livingston is <a href="https://history.rutgers.edu/faculty-directory/172-livingston-james" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a tenured Professor of History</a> at Rutgers University. His specialty is listed as Modern US: Intellectual and Economic History. He considers himself an “economic historian” and professionally writes many publications about politics, economics, and working in the United States.

In his personal time, Dr. Livingston often takes to Facebook to discuss similar topics, but in a less professional manner. <a href="https://pen.org/press-clip/white-professor-accused-of-antiwhite-racism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In a Facebook post from May 31, 2018</a>, Dr. Livingston denounces the white race and belligerently asserts he “hates white people.” Later in the post, he calls white Americans “little caucasian assholes who know their parents will approve of anything they do” and “little shitheads.”

When Facebook flagged the post and took it down, rather than apologize for his racist rant, he posted the following:

Shortly after his anti-white tirade, Rutgers launched an investigation into his posts. The university stated that they received several anonymous complaints about the posts, calling them to take action against the Professor. Dr. Livingston claimed he was making a statement about gentrification and told university officials that white supremacists were sending him threatening messages.

The investigation was headed by Carolyn Dellatore, the associate director of the Office of Employment Equity. <a href="https://www.thefire.org/rutgers-investigation-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Her investigation found that</a> “given Professor Livingston’s insistence on making disparaging racial comments, a reasonable student may have concerns that he or she would be stigmatized in his classes because of his or her race. As such, Professor Livingston’s comments have violated university policy.” He argued, however, that his posts were not racist because white people cannot be discriminated against. He also argued that the first amendment gave him the right to freedom of speech.

The university initially decided to sanction Dr. Livingston, but they <a href="https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/2018/11/15/no-punishment-rutgers-university-professor-over-white-people-comments-facebook/2016377002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ultimately reversed their decision</a> in November 2018, clearing him of all charges. Dr. Livingston is still teaching at Rutgers University today.

<a href="https://comminfo.rutgers.edu/kumanyika-chenjerai">Dr. Chenjerai Kumanyika</a> is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University. Dr. Kumanyika traveled to Ferguson, MO multiple times to protest the non-indictment of the white police officer who shot Michael Brown. He was also a signatory on a letter supporting the demands from the Coalition of Concerned Students who believe in prosecuting what they call “predatory behaviors and defamatory speech,” even from social media sources. The letter also calls for building a new multi-cultural center, more support for “underrepresented groups,” increasing the number of minority faculty members, and for Clemson employees to go through diversity training. Chenjerai also orchestrated a campaign against a student senate candidate and accused a candidate of racism for posing with a gun and American flag for his campaign poster.

<a href="https://sph.rutgers.edu/concentrations/urban-global-public-health/faculty-member.php?id=92133" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Perry Halkitis</a> is the Dean and Hunterdon Professor of Public Health and Health Equity in the School of Public Health at Rutgers University. He is designated as a Distinguished Professor with research interests in infectious diseases such as HIV, HPV, and COVID-19.

Halkitis is the founder and director of the Center for Health, Identity, Behavior and Prevention Studies (CHIBPS). CHIBPS is not a medical clinic but is “an interdisciplinary research center within the Rutgers School of Public Health. <a href="https://sph.rutgers.edu/centers/chibps/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The center’s website</a> says the organization is “nationally recognized for the study of LGBTQ health with a focus on the disparities of infectious diseases including HIV, substance use, and mental health burden.”

Halkitis put #EthicalDisruptor in his Twitter profile and uses his page to bring awareness to LGBTQ community issues. In a video pinned by Halkitis, a host of New Jersey Power and Politics interviewed him regarding the Colorado Springs <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/grotesque-politicization-colorado-springs-gay-bar-shooting-opinion-1761129" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gay night club shooting</a>.  

Halkitis was asked how he thought rhetoric from political figures enabled people like the shooter to commit hate crimes. Halkitis, who believes microaggressions are a public health issue, stated:

“We’ve been seeing over the course of the last four to five years a steady increase in hate crimes…[We need to] think about how our work in public health has to be responsible enough to call out that rhetoric — whether it be macro aggressions…or the microaggressions that marginalize people on a daily basis.”

Halkitis also said the fact that the club shooter identifies as “nonbinary” is not a factor because “LGBTQ people are raised in a society that also embeds us with trans-homophobia…and many of us internalize it.”

<a href="https://ifh.rutgers.edu/faculty_staff/naa-oyo-a-kwate/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naa Oyo Kwate</a> is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Ecology and in the Department of Africana Studies at Rutgers University. Her faculty profile says she has “wide-ranging interests in racial equity and African American health.” Her research interests include “ways in which urban built environments reflect racial inequities…and how racism, directly and indirectly, affects African American health.”

The University of Pennsylvania invited Kwate to give a talk on February 15, 2023. The <a href="https://www.nursing.upenn.edu/calendar/view/event/event_id/4222/view/event" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement</a> says Kwate “examines the ways in which fast food…has shifted from its position of jealously guarded whiteness and wholesome leisure to gauche, homogenized, anachronistic—and black.”

The abstract further states, “Fast food has undergone a complete inversion from its historical origins of serving urban white workers and middle-class white suburban families to become synonymous with urban black space.”

In her book, “<a href="https://manifold.umn.edu/projects/burgers-in-blackface" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Burgers in Blackface</a>,” Kwate discussed restaurant culture from the perspective of slavery and the ridicule of black people. She introduced the book by stating, “This book examines the ways in which American restaurants have traded on denigrating images of black people in names, branding, and architecture. The United States has a long history of black stereotypes being used to sell products, particularly packaged food…”

She concludes the book, “Because racism is the way American society does business, the establishments reviewed here may at first blush suggest simply another–if unique–example of how business is done…It is also possible that racist restaurants mobilize the culture, geography, and institutions of the South.”

Kwate announced on Twitter that her new book “White Burgers, Black Cash: Fast Food from Black Exclusion to Exploitation” will drop in May 2023.”

<a href="https://womens-studies.rutgers.edu/faculty/core-faculty/572-cooper-brittney">Brittney Cooper</a> is an associate professor of Africana and Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University. 

Much of her research and writing centers around the intersections of race, feminism, and gender. Cooper’s work has led to her to develop a number of bizarre opinions:

- While Cooper claims that most American Christians worship a God of “white supremacy and patriarchy,” she chooses to <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/01/the_rights_made_up_god_how_bigots_invented_a_white_supremacist_jesus/">worship a Jesus that was “queer”</a> and “married to a prostitute.” 

- White families <a href="https://www.salon.com/2014/01/07/white_supremacy_wins_again_melissa_harris_perry_and_the_racial_false_equivalence/">can’t properly raise black children</a>.

- Linear time is a product of a Euro-centric world, or in short, <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/rutgers-professor-even-the-concept-of-time-is-racist/">our concept of time is racist.</a>

- A founding principle of our nation is that black people are inhuman, therefore <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/29/black_americas_baltimore_schism_why_the_freddie_gray_tragedy_demands_serious_soul_searching/">riots are really just resistance </a>against an unjust system.   

- BREXIT was the result of <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=7760">white nationalism.</a>

- Obesity in the black community is <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=13866">caused by racism</a>.

Cooper has publicly attacked conservatives on multiple occasions, most recently during a live stream commentary on the DNC. Before launching into a tirade accusing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for “demolishing the civil rights movement,” Cooper explained <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=15668">why American exceptionalism is a myth</a>; 
“I’m not here for the American Patriotism, American Exceptionalism Bulls***. All that stuff is propaganda, but as political theater it is amazing.” 
Cooper has attributed most of the deaths from the pandemic to racism and conservatives, stating that, “I feel like most Black people are clear that this utterly absurd push to re-open the country is all about a gross necropolitical calculation that it is Black people who are dying disproportionately from COVID,” and <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/rutgers-university-prof-reopening-the-country-is-about-killing-black-people/">blaming Trump supporters for the hundreds of thousands of deaths</a> due to the coronavirus.

Cooper has previously stated that a conservative’s beliefs are “rooted in racism.” In an appearance on MSNBC, <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/duncan-schroeder/2020/08/30/deranged-msnbc-pundit-goes-hateful-rant-against-trump-voters">Cooper stated that conservatives have a desire for power</a> at the expense of black and brown Americans. 

“...part of the challenge we have as a nation is that a significant swath of Americans still support Donald Trump. They support his vision of America. And that is rooted in racism. It is rooted in a desire for power at the expense of everyone who is black and brown…”

Cooper has denigrated conservatives and white people throughout her career. <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?444245-2/eloquent-rage&amp;playEvent">During a speech in Baltimore</a>, she stated that as white men lose their power, they will continue to “terrorize” black men and women. On a previous thread, she stated that the black community is being eaten alive by “capitalism, patriarchy, and racism,” and white people won’t feel any negative consequences of these systems so long as they can continue to displace white people through systems like gentrification. 

During an interview with The Root, Copper claimed that white people are committed to being “villians” and claimed, “We gotta take these MF’ers out.”

Dr. Gerard Harbison is an <a href="https://chem.unl.edu/gerard-harbison" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emeritus Professor of Chemistry</a> at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. His research interests include Computational Chemistry and NMR Spectroscopy. He has written several educational and research publications for several journals, including the Journal of Molecular Structure and the Journal of Combinatorial Chemistry.

When Dr. Harbison isn’t researching the origins of isotopomeric polymorphism, you can find him writing for his personal blog, titled, <a href="https://www.blogger.com/profile/06182552979528991484" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Transmillenial</a>. According to his blog, Dr. Harbison identifies as a "millenial, atheist, catholic, feminist, scientist trapped in the body of a much older man.” His blog posts typically perpetuate the same rhetoric - conservatives (and Turning Point USA) are bad.

<a href="http://transmillenial.blogspot.com/2021/10/the-members-of-turning-point-usa-at-unl.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In a blog post from October 29, 2021</a>, Dr. Harbison named all of the members of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Turning Point USA chapter and alleged they played a part in funding actions of “terrorists.” He writes, “Turning Point USA love lists. They have a long-standing list of faculty who have not hewn to the conservative way, either by writing stuff unfavorable to Donald Trump, or teaching things conservatives don't want to hear. So, in the spirit of listing and transparency, these are their current members at UNL.”

<a href="https://polisci.unl.edu/ari-kohen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Ari Kohen</a> is the Schlesinger Professor of Social Justice in the <a href="https://polisci.unl.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Department of Political Science</a> at the <a href="https://www.unl.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of Nebraska at Lincoln</a>. According to his University biography, his current research interests include social justice education, technology and racism, and “extremist challenges to liberalism.”

In May of 2019, Dr. Kohen accused members of various TPUSA chapters in the state of Nebraska of being white supremacists. In a post on his personal Twitter account, Dr. Kohen asks why the students and former TPUSA staff pictured are flashing “the same white power symbol” as the Christchurch shooter.

Dr. Kohen is referencing a mass shooting that occurred in Christchurch, New Zealand just a few weeks prior to his tweet. During the March 2019 rampage, <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-53861456" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a terrorist killed 51 and injured 41 Muslim members of two separate mosques across the city</a>.

In the left-most photo of the tweet, members of TPUSA chapters can be seen posing for a photo at an event while making an “ok” sign with their hands. Dr. Kohen juxtaposes the photo with a photo of the gunman making a similar gesture.

Many regard the “ok” sign as a euphemism for signaling the phrase “white power.” Despite persistence by members of the media, <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2017/12/29/fake-news-daily-mail-uses-4chan-hoax-to-accuse-white-house-intern-of-being-white-supremacist/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the “ok” signal’s connection to white supremacy is a myth</a>. The connection is thought to have originated as a prank from the site 4-chan in 2017.

Dubbed “operation o-kkk,” anonymous users were instructed to spam liberal media outlets and social media platforms to claim the “ok” sign is a symbol for “white power.” Users were then instructed to create anonymous, left-leaning accounts to retweet the prank, simulate outrage at the gesture, and further amplify the campaign.

<a href="https://www.adl.org/blog/how-the-ok-symbol-became-a-popular-trolling-gesture" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Even the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League has declared the campaign a “hoax.</a>” Despite being widely regarded as fake, Dr. Kohen still maintains that anyone who flashes the sign is a “white nationalist.”

After he was contacted by various media outlets over his comments, Dr. Kohen only proceeded to double down on his accusations. In a series of tweets, he accuses TPUSA and Breitbart News of “weaponizing the internet” over his remarks and again falsely accuses the students of flashing a “white power” sign.

<a href="https://www.unl.edu/wgs/emily-kazyak" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Emily Kazyak</a> is an Associate Professor for the Women’s &amp; Gender Studies Program at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Kazyak’s focus is on Sociology and Women’s &amp; Gender Studies. “Emily Kazyak found that far from being asexual, Disney films are steeped in sexuality — heterosexuality. According to Martin and Kazyak, the plot of Disney films overwhelmingly revolve around heterosexual romance. Heterosexual love — including, of course, the highly esteemed heterosexual kiss — is presented as “exceptional, powerful, magical and transformative.”

<a href="https://keough.nd.edu/profile/anibal-perez-linan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aníbal Pérez-Liñán</a> is a Professor of Political Science and Global Affairs and Director of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame. According to his <a href="https://politicalscience.nd.edu/people/anibal-perez-linan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">university profile,</a> his areas of expertise include “democratization, political institutions, executive-legislative relations, and the rule of law.”
In June 2021, Professor Pérez-Liñán signed a “statement of concern” titled <a href="https://www.newamerica.org/political-reform/statements/statement-of-concern/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“The Threats to American Democracy and the Need for National Voting and Election Administration Standards.”</a> The letter was circulated by New America, a liberal think tank, and signed by professors from across the country. The statement says:
“State legislatures have advanced initiatives that curtail voting methods now preferred by Democratic-leaning constituencies, such as early voting and mail voting. Republican lawmakers have openly talked about ensuring the “purity” and “quality” of the vote, echoing arguments widely used across the Jim Crow South as reasons for restricting the Black vote.” 
The letter acknowledges it is “always far better for major democracy reforms to be bipartisan,” but argues that in the “current hyper-polarized political context such broad bipartisan support is sadly lacking.” The statement ends with a call to action:
“We urge members of Congress to do whatever is necessary &#8211; including suspending the filibuster &#8211; in order to pass national voting and election administration standards that both guarantee the vote to all Americans equally, and prevent state legislatures from manipulating the rules in order to manufacture the result they want.” 
Notre Dame News wrote an article about the letter titled, <a href="https://news.nd.edu/news/political-science-professors-sign-statement-warning-of-threats-to-us-democracy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Political science professors sign statement warning of threats to US democracy.”</a> The article discusses how Pérez-Liñán “sees parallels in some Latin American countries to attempts by U.S. state Republican legislatures to restrict voting rules, thus securing long-term partisan control of their states.” He states:
“This strategy only works if federal legislation fails to enforce voting rights nationally. Students of Latin American politics call this phenomenon ‘boundary control.’ In Latin America, authoritarian governors are known to preserve power in their enclaves by fending off the influence of national governments.”

<a href="https://www.msps.nd.edu/iris-outlaw">Iris Outlaw</a> is the Director of Multicultural Student Program and Services at the University of Notre Dame. Outlaw taught a “white privilege” seminar that pledged to help students acknowledge and understand their white privilege.

Tamara Kay is a <a href="https://keough.nd.edu/profile/tamara-kay/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Professor of Global Affairs and Sociology</a> at the University of Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs. She is also an ex-officio member of the Keough School’s Racial Justice Task Force.

<a href="https://irishrover.net/2022/10/keough-school-professor-offers-abortion-access-to-student/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Irish Rover</a> reports that Professor Kay is helping students get abortions after an Indiana law banning abortions statewide took effect on September 15, 2022. She posted a sign on her office door that read: “This is a SAFE SPACE to get help and information on ALL Healthcare issues and access - confidentially with care and compassion.” The sign also contained her personal email address and a capital “J.”

Look for the “J”, Spread the word to students!” The Rover reports that professors with the “J” on their doors offer help in obtaining Plan B “morning after” pills and “Plan C” abortion pills.

According to The Rover, Professor Kay claims that her abortion advocacy is allowed because she’s “doing that as a private citizen,” saying, “that’s been cleared by the university … I talked to the dean and have also spoken to ND Media about policies.”

However, during the week of September 26, Kay changed her Twitter name from “Dr. Tamara Kay - Notre Dame abortion rights expert” to “Dr. Tamara Kay - Abortion Rights &amp; Policy Scholar.” She has also since deleted all tweets referencing abortions for students and removed the signs from her office.

Professor Kay has written many articles about abortion rights. One article, co-authored with Susan Ostermann, an assistant professor at the Keough School, is titled <a href="https://www.salon.com/2022/05/04/forced-pregnancy-and-childbirth-are-violence-against-women--and-also-terrible-health-policy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Forced pregnancy and childbirth are violence against women - and also terrible health policy.”</a> The article argues that “forced pregnancy and childbirth is sexual abuse,” stating:
“Both require the sexual reproductive capacity of human bodies. Being forced to provide that capacity, and to endure the physical intrusion and penetration of the body that both pregnancy and childbirth require, is nothing less than sexual abuse.” 
The article argues that “abortion access is freedom-enhancing,” saying:
“Consistent with integral human development that emphasizes social justice and human dignity, abortion access respects the inherent dignity of women, their freedom to make choices and to evaluate medical and other risks associated with pregnancy and childbirth.” 
It concludes:
“Perhaps most important, abortion access also prioritizes and values women’s freedom from experiencing violence, sexual abuse and trauma through forced pregnancy and childbirth. When the state supports forced pregnancy and childbirth, it is complicit in this violence.”

According to his university profile, he is a member of the highest decision-making body, the Principal Investigator Board, for the <a href="https://www.v-dem.net/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Varieties of Democracy</a> project. The project, also known as V-Dem, is a collaborative effort led by four principal investigators that has “produced new measures of hundreds of aspects of democracy and governance for nearly all countries since 1900.”

V-Dem reports that no country in North America or Europe has advanced in democracy in the last decade and democracy in the U.S. has declined substantially. Coppedge states:
“A decline is already underway. If recent and pending state-level legislation erects more and more barriers to voting and makes the translation of votes into seats and electors even more distorted than it already is, I am sure this trend will worsen.” 
V-Dem’s 2021 report shows that the U.S. declined substantially on the Liberal Democracy Index from 2010 to 2020. Notre Dame News reports that the V-Dem researchers blame this decline on “former President Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on the media and opposition politicians, and the substantial weakening of the legislature’s de facto checks and balances on executive power.”

Hermansen said after the election of Donald Trump that professors should give Muslim students extra time on assignments if they requested; "“If a Muslim student requests extra time to complete assignments, it may be because they feel threatened" she said at a post-election discussion. Additionally, Hermansen has a problem of intolerance towards people critical of Islam, as she once backed out of a panel with Islam critic Robert Spencer.  The event was supposed to be about different perspectives on Islam, but Hermansen apparently was offended that it would actually involve different perspectives on Islam.

<a href="https://www.luc.edu/quinlan/faculty/jennadrenten.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Jenna Drenten</a> is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Loyola University Chicago. According to her university profile, her research “explores digital consumer culture: how digital technologies and social media platforms … present new opportunities for consumers to express their identities and navigate life transitions.”

Drenten wrote an article <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/clean-pantries-are-racist-and-sexist-loyola-marketing-scholar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">criticizing a social media trend</a> where users post videos of different ways to stock and organize pantries. She says she’s noticed “an uptick in glamorized, stylized and fully stocked pantries on TikTok and Instagram, giving rise to a content genre I dub ‘pantry porn.’”

Drenten believes the <a href="https://theconversation.com/pantry-porn-on-tiktok-and-instagram-makes-obsessively-organized-kitchens-a-new-status-symbol-197517" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pantry is a “modern-day status symbol,”</a> writing:
“Cleanliness has historically been used as a cultural gatekeeping mechanism to reinforce status distinctions based on a vague understanding of ‘niceness’: nice people, with nice yards, in nice houses, make for nice neighborhoods.” 
However, she continues:
“What lies beneath the surface of this anti-messiness, pro-niceness stance is a history of classist, racist and sexist social structures. In my research, influencers who produce pantry porn are predominantly white women who demonstrate what it looks like to maintain a ‘nice’ home by creating a new status symbol: the perfectly organized, fully stocked pantry.” 
Drenten continues by noting the work of restocking the pantry falls to women who may have to “work overtime” to achieve the perfectly organized pantry. She concludes by saying:
“Pantry porn, as a status symbol, relies on the promise of making daily domestic work easier. But if women are largely responsible for the work required to maintain the perfectly organized pantry, it’s critical to ask: easier for whom?”

Rose argues that successful black people who believe in the “American dream” perpetuate white supremacy and that it’s unfortunate that many black people buy into the notion that “the American dream is available to any and everyone as long as you work hard.” Rose stated that it doesn't help when prominent black people in the media perpetuate an idea that America is post-racial. She is also the author the book “Abolishing White Masculinity.”

She, along with her co-instructors, wrote an e-mail to students in her class saying that debating man's role in climate change would not be allowed and that if students did not fully accept that climate change was occurring and man-made they should not take the course.

Penn was recorded complaining in one of his creative writing classes about “dead white Republicans” who “raped his country.” As a student videotaped his rant, Penn antagonized students and asked, “You look like you’re frowning. Are you frowning?”.

Dr. Dorinda Carter Andrews is a <a href="https://education.msu.edu/people/carter-andrews-dorinda/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Chairperson and Professor</a> at Michigan State University in the College of Education. Her research interests include racial justice and educational equity. Dr. Andrews has published articles for many media outlets and journals and has given two <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3N23MXsow8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TED Talks</a> in relation to critical race theory and racial gaps in education.

In an <a href="https://www.hourdetroit.com/education-schools/a-critical-race-theory-expert-on-how-something-benign-became-toxic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article for Hour Detroit</a>, Dr. Andrews accuses conservatives of “gaslighting” by being against critical race theory. Dr. Andrews alleges conservatives “cry CRT” any time an educator teaches something from America’s history that puts them in a “bad light,” even if it’s true. She goes on to insinuate that conservatives don’t want educators teaching black history at all.

In a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOrgf3wTUbo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TED Talk given in 2014</a>, Dr. Andrews discussed racial inequity in the education system. She argues that the education system was founded in white supremacy,  making it nearly impossible for students of color to get ahead. She claims that students of color and poor students are already behind the curve before they even step foot into the classroom, and it’s unfair to expect the same levels of success for them compared to white students.

Dr. Andrews is a critical race theorist who pushes anti-white rhetoric in the classroom. In her opinion, racism is so deeply embedded into our education system that students of color have no chance of getting ahead if critical race theory isn’t taught in the classroom. In her eyes, conservatives are only against critical race theory because they fear it paints them in a negative light.

Carla Pfeffer is an <a href="https://socialwork.msu.edu/directory/pfeffer-carla.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associate Professor of Social Work</a> and Director of the Consortium for Sexual and Gender Minority Health at Michigan State University.

Professor Pfeffer is outspoken about her pro-choice beliefs. She was quoted in an MSU Today article titled: <a href="https://msutoday.msu.edu/news/2022/Roe-V-Wade-decision-MSU-experts-discuss" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“Roe v. Wade overturned: Michigan State University experts discuss.”</a> Pfeffer stated:
“Consistent governmental inaction in regard to protecting all children from poverty, gun violence, and police violence reveals the hypocrisy of legally restricting abortion. Rather than protecting children, banning abortion is about governmental power and control over marginalized bodies and crass political maneuvering to appease a conservative base.” 
She continued:
“In discussions about the overturn of Roe v. Wade, people who are lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and non-binary tend to be left out of the conversation.”
She finished her statement by claiming that members of the LGBTQ community “often face disproportionately higher rates of unintended and unwanted pregnancy” and that abortion access is “critical for ensuring physical and mental health.”

In September 2022, Pfeffer wrote an article for <a href="https://theconversation.com/transgender-men-and-nonbinary-people-are-asked-to-stop-testosterone-therapy-during-pregnancy-but-the-evidence-for-this-guidance-is-still-murky-187672" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Conversation</a> where she argued that transgender men and nonbinary people should not have to stop testosterone therapy while they are pregnant. Although many doctors told Pfeffer that there is “not enough or inconclusive research on supplemental testosterone during pregnancy,” Pfeffer argues that “testosterone therapy is often essential to the mental and physical health” of transgender people.

Pfeffer believes that “careful attention to the physical and mental health and well-being of trans and nonbinary people before, during and after pregnancy is long overdue in medicine” and that:
“Instead of approaching testosterone therapy during pregnancy as a yes/no question or a one-size-fits-all standard, investigating how various dosages of testosterone may affect all stages of pregnancy and chestfeeding could lead to better outcomes for both trans patients and their children.”

Dr. Melissa Fore is a <a href="https://jmc.msu.edu/about/directory/Fore.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Visiting Assistant Professor and Director of the James Madison College Reading and Writing Center</a> at Michigan State University. Dr. Fore teaches in the first-year writing program and is a core faculty member MSU’s Center for Gender in a Global Context.

Dr. Fore’s professor biography states:
“Her writing classroom explores how concepts of race, class, gender, and sexuality are culturally constructed through social, political, and economic values. She asks students to consider how the cycles of socialization have influenced their understanding of identity and community in order to engage in writing assignments that examine structural racism, the affordable housing crisis, and challenging gender norms.” 
In April 2019, <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/article?id=12117" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Campus Reform</a> reported that Professor Fore canceled class to allow her students to attend a conference on race and socialism. The James Madison College Office of Diversity Programming described the event as “fundamentally designed to examine systems of power and privilege in the United States, especially the impact of these ‘systems’ on communities of color.”

Dr. Fore is a facilitator for <a href="https://www.awaretogether.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AWARE (Advancing White Anti-Racist Education) Together.</a> The AWARE Together website states that the organization “offers white anti-racist education programs for groups and associations that are committed to seeing the realities of racism and taking anti-racist action.” Further, the <a href="https://www.awaretogether.org/purpose.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">‘Purpose’ page</a> states: “White people benefit from the social and economic systems that perpetuate racism. Ending the terror and injustice of white supremacy can only be accomplished if white people work to be anti-racist.”

Professor Fore’s <a href="https://www.awaretogether.org/facilitators.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">facilitator biography</a> states:
“In examining her own identity as a white woman, Melissa came to see how identity formation is linked to power and privilege, and how dismantling white supremacy is central to social, political, and economic justice.” 
Dr. Fore co-founded the Marble Elementary School Equity Team and is the Co-Chair of the <a href="https://elps.us/our-district/board-of-education/committees/reproductive-health-advisory-committee/sex-education-advisory-board-members/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">East Lansing Sex Education Advisory Board.</a> The Sex Education Advisory Board has a document titled the <a href="https://elps.us/downloads/school_board_-_committee_documents/k-5_consent_toolkit_moash_1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">‘K-5 Consent Toolkit.’</a> The document is intended for Michigan educators, parents, caregivers, and students and includes standards and curriculum for elementary school students.

The document states that by the end of second grade, students should be able to: list medically accurate names for genitals, define gender, gender identity, and gender role stereotypes, and discuss the range of ways people express gender and how gender role stereotypes may limit behavior.

The document also provides links to <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IJ2hD7bECD1gkWoDND5s5sRYG37RYPRf/view" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggested lesson plans.</a> One of these lesson plans, titled “Understanding Our Bodies - The Basics,” tells students that “There are some body parts that mostly just girls have and some parts that mostly just boys have.”

Another lesson plan, titled “Pink, Blue and Purple,” instructs students on gender identity, stating: “You might feel like you are a boy, you might feel like you are a girl. You might feel like you’re a boy even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘girl’ parts. You might feel like you’re a girl even if you have body parts that some people might tell you are ‘boy’ parts.”

Dr. Rashida Harrison is an <a href="https://jmc.msu.edu/about/directory/Harrison.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Professor of Social Relations and Policy</a> with the James Madison College at Michigan State University (MSU). She teaches courses on social theory, social movements, intersections of Race, Class, Gender and Sexuality, Global Citizenships, and Race and Citizenship.

<a href="https://poverty.umich.edu/research/faculty-experts/lisa-lapeyrouse/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lisa Lapeyrouse</a> is an Associate Professor of Health Science and Administration at the University of Michigan. According to her university profile, her areas of expertise include “racial/ethnic disparities in mental health and health care access among Latino communities, including immigrant and border populations.” Lapeyrouse is also the principal investigator of “Beyond Rhetoric: Confronting and Combating Racism in Genesee County, Michigan.”

The <a href="https://www.beyondrhetoricmovement.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Beyond Rhetoric Project</a> began in 2020 after Genesee County commissioners passed a <a href="https://gfhc.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/GFHC-AntiRacismResolution.061520ks.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resolution</a> that formally recognized racism as a public health crisis. The project is led by Lapeyrouse and <a href="https://publichealth.msu.edu/flint-research/flint-public-health-research/kent-key-phd-mph#:~:text=Key%20is%20the%20Deputy%20Director,extension%20of%20his%20doctoral%20dissertation." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kent Key</a>, the executive deputy director of Community-Based Organization Partners and assistant professor in the Division of Public Health at Michigan State University.

Lapeyrouse stated:
“Racism has serious and harmful health repercussions for the community. But, if you’re not looking at racism as a systemic problem, then it becomes a lot easier to ignore. Even when people are willing to talk about racism, there often isn’t a clear understanding of systemic racism. There is a reluctance to acknowledge how we all participate in racist policies and practices.” 
The project also formed a community action council to establish a strategic plan to end racist policies and practices in Genesee County. <a href="https://news.umich.edu/beyond-rhetoric-offers-road-map-for-responding-to-racism-as-a-public-health-crisis/#:~:text=The%20Beyond%20Rhetoric%20project%2C%20which,as%20a%20public%20health%20crisis." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Council recommendations</a> included hiring more health care professionals of color, reforming school discipline policies, and making community services accessible to people with disabilities and people with limited English proficiency.

Lapeyrouse said she believes <a href="https://news.umflint.edu/2023/02/08/um-flint-professor-students-working-with-beyond-rhetoric-project-to-fight-racism-in-genesee-county/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">anti-racism work</a> is more important now than ever, and she makes sure to instill that in her students.
“I see this move as acknowledgment by people making decisions that impact the health and wellbeing of everyone in our community that racism exists. We need policies in place that ensure equity. We can’t ignore what is right here in front of us.” 
Lapeyrouse has also been outspoken about her support for COVID vaccines. In July 2021, she tweeted:

She <a href="https://news.umflint.edu/2021/08/25/a-neighbors-guide-to-the-covid-vaccine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">led a project</a> that created “A Neighbor’s Guide to the COVID Vaccine.” According to UM-Flint News, the “informational booklet was created with the goal of providing vaccine-hesitant residents in Flint with credible health information related to the COVID-19 vaccine, so they may feel empowered to make the best decision for their health.”

Lapeyrouse used one of her master’s level courses as a service-learning course that focused on this project. She adds:
“When students know the work they’re doing is for actual people, their effort and what they are able to accomplish is so much greater than what I see in my non-service learning courses. These types of classes are a tremendous amount of work, but the payoffs for both our students and community make it well worth it.”

Hannig continued,
“Despite this rapidly changing legal climate, the language for describing this new way to die remains surprisingly antiquated. The term that continues to dominate media coverage on the issue is ‘assisted suicide.’ The American Medical Associate uses the term ‘physician-assisted suicide.’”
“As a cultural anthropologist, I know that how we name something determines how we think about it. Until just recently, the primary term in the English language for the purposeful, voluntary death of oneself was ‘suicide.’ Besides martyrdom or sacrifice, there was no other way to refer to an intentional self-death.”
“Assisted suicide” is not a new way to die, as Hannig claimed. In 2011, a notorious suicide physician named Dr. Jack Kevorkian passed away. During his 50 years of medical practice, Kevorkian — known as “Dr. Death” — killed more than 100 terminally-ill patients and was eventually convicted of second-degree murder. Britannica says, he lobbied for medical experiments on death-row inmates and advocated for establishing suicide clinics.

I was showing How to Die in Oregon (the best documentary on assisted dying, I think) in one of my anthropology classes at Brandeis, and I became immediately hooked.” 
Hannig’s book also provides assisted suicide websites that help facilitate conversations and offers tools to assist patients and families plan for premature death.

<a href="http://www.brandeis.edu/facultyguide/person.html?emplid=ab457d288c632f1a02cc93401ab15946ca2e2dbb">Dr. Donald Hindley</a>, a Political Science Professor Emeritus at Brandeis University, quit after being triggered by the alleged abundance of conservatives at the school. He said, “I just could not tolerate anymore,” the conservative-direction the political science department had taken, referring subtly to the pro-Israel stance of the university.

Dr. <a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/gsas/admissions/contact.html">Kate Slater</a> is the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Brandeis University. On her personal website, Dr. Slater <a href="https://kateaslater.com/about">describes herself as a “white anti-racist scholar and educator.</a>” In this capacity, Dr. Slater writes that she studies how “white racial identity formation and how racism operates individually, organizationally, and systemically.”

In a now-highly-publicized post on her private Instagram page—obtained by The College Fix—Dr. Slater launched into a<a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/brandeis-university-dean-yes-all-white-people-are-racist/"> racially inflammatory attack on white people and defended the teaching of Critical Race Theory</a>. Writing that, “all white people are racist,” she claims that American society conditions white people—including herself—to be racist, which justifies the need for critical theory in education.

Critical Theory, or Critical Race Theory, is an <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2012/03/11/what-is-critical-race-theory/">intellectual branch of Marxism that alleges American society and all of its founding institutions are infected with and perpetuate white supremacy</a>. Furthermore, proponents of Critical Race Theory believe that people should take proactive steps to dismantle these institutions in the name of equity, which is also referred to as being “anti-racist.”

Dr. Slater’s website also <a href="https://kateaslater.com/trainings">offers anti-racism training and courses on Critical Race Theory for universities and K-12 institutions</a>. On the promotional page for one such lecture titled 4 Steps to Begin an Antiracist Education—<a href="https://www.unh.edu/unhtoday/2020/07/world-shaped-race">sponsored and promoted by the University of New Hampshire</a>—skin color is described as the determining factor for how successful one's life will be.

In the lecture itself, Dr. Slater states that an antiracist worldview begins with the understanding that a <a href="https://media.unh.edu/media/In-Depth+on+InclusionA+4+Steps+to+Begin+An+Anti-Racist+Education/1_8lg7eccx">white person is never NOT racist in American society</a>. She further divides individuals into two categories: Those with a racist worldview, and those who take antiracist actions.

Dr. Slater urges her white students to personally engage in antiracism throughout the lecture. She even encourages a teacher who was present at the lecture to discuss her stances on antiracism with her own students. At one point, Dr. Slater states that all white people are the “oppressors” and therefore cannot have opinions about racism.

<a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/facultyguide/person.html?emplid=6c9f9a9f50eb4c90a05d153652a15549d6bc2f60" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Varun Chaudhry</a> is an Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and an Affiliate Faculty member in African and African American Studies at Brandeis University. Chaudhry’s profile says she is “a cultural anthropologist whose work focuses on gender, race, sexuality, and class in the United States.” 

Chaudhry identifies with the trans community and prefers the pronouns “they/he.” She is listed as a <a href="https://www.appliedtransstudies.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senior and Distinguished Fellow of CATS</a> (The Center for Applied Transgender Studies). The organization's About page says, “We are an independent nonprofit research organization run by transgender people for transgender people.” 

In August 2021, Chaudhry was featured in a <a href="https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2021/aug/11/remove-male-and-female-from-birth-certificates-her/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spokesman-Review article</a> titled “Remove ‘male’ and ‘female’ from birth certificates? Here’s why [the] nation’s largest group of physicians recommends it.” The column discusses the American Medical Association’s [AMA] efforts to remove binary gender designation from identification documents. 

Citing a June report, Spokesman-Review said, “The AMA’s LGBTQ+ advisory committee advised the organization to push for removing sex labels from the public part of the birth certificate…But some [LGBTQ+ advocates] cautioned against celebrating the news too soon.”

Chaudhry stated, “People are still really committed to a binary sex model…The recommendation may say sex is not important for something like a birth certificate, but if people are still committed to a binary sex model, they find other ways to determine those things.”

Later that year, Chaudhry participated in <a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/arts-sciences/core/critical-conversations/2021-22/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Brandeis Core</a> — a panel discussion for “community” and “critical conversations.” The discussion titled “<a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/arts-sciences/core/critical-conversations/2021-22/videos.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The ‘Ins’ and ‘Outs’ of LGBTQ+ Community</a>” focused on “the limits and possibilities for [the] queer and transgender community on a global scale, particularly how gender, race, class and nation complicate what community can and does mean.”

<a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/english/faculty/callender.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brandon Callender</a> is an Assistant Professor of English at Brandeis University. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Brandon prefers the pronouns he/him/his. His research interests include 19th and 20th Century American Literature, African American Literature, and Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Callender’s list of courses taught includes ENG 15B — Black Joy. The description says the course “explores the exuberant and sometimes strained relationship between black people and joy.” His course EN 175B — Getting Behind in Black Gay Men’s Literatures is a study of “black queer men’s sexualities…[including] varying attitudes black queer writers have toward cruising and intimacy [and] falling behind at work or in life, because of certain sexual pursuits.”

In 2022, Callender <a href="https://read.dukeupress.edu/qui-parle/article/31/1/67/314953/The-Devil-Finds-UseBlack-Queers-Do-The-Exorcist?guestAccessKey=cad74655-0591-48e0-b1a5-8566a7481c26" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published an article</a> titled “The Devil Finds Use: Black Queers Do The Exorcist.” The piece explores a critique of The Exorcist (1973 film) in James Baldwin's essay “The Devil Finds Work.” In the abstract, Callender says,

“Much of black horror studies today is premised on the assumption that true horror, for the black audience, is found not in the paranormal but in the normal and the systemic. It is now conventional, for instance, for scholars to preface their research with a personal anecdote that swaps out a supernatural on-screen threat for a more pressing — and more horrifying — social one.”

He continued,

“By swapping out superficial horrors for social ones, black subjects today enter into the horror genre as its rivals, if not its foils. Instead of reeling from horror’s intended ‘dreadful pleasures,’ they experience a horror that arises more traumatically, more personally, and more incidentally as a result of their racial consciousness.”

The Brandeis Department of English <a href="https://www.brandeis.edu/english/faculty/podcast/callender-podcast.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published a two-part podcast</a> with Callender as a special guest. The host asked Callender, “[W]hat were you like as a high schooler?” Callender said,

“My high school experience was largely spent, I think, trying to figure out who I was…There was a lot of racism that was pretty worn on the surface of our school…I have a deep difficulty rethinking what those years meant to me, because the same teacher who deeply inspired and moved me did not teach me anything about my experience as a black person, or as a queer person. That was not part of his agenda, his curriculum.”

She teaches courses in the departments of Anthropology, Health, Science, Society, and Policy, as well as Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Hannig’s faculty profile says she specializes in “socio-cultural and medical anthropology; anthropology of death and dying; anthropology of religion, gender and the body; and medical assistance in dying.” In 2015, she “launched a long-term, ethnographic research project on medical aid-in-dying in the United States.
