Even worse, this is not an isolated incident; Train&#8217;s essay instructions prohibited using government data, newspaper articles, or business sources (they are part of the patriarchy according to Train). Instead, &#8220;feminist sources&#8221; are to be utilized.

He blamed the shooting on former sniper Chris Kyle as well as Fox News, for creating a &#8216;culture&#8217; that encourages mass shooting.

Dr. Tambe has made a number of outrageous claims on Twitter about economics and feminism. Recently she called for “men control” in addition to gun control.

<a href="https://jewishstudies.berkeley.edu/people/ron-hendel/">Dr. Ronald Hendel</a> is a Professor of the Hebrew Bible and Jewish Studies at the University of California-Berkeley. At the beginning of Hendel’s class, titled “Jewish Civilization I: The Biblical Period,” he told students not to take his class if they think the Bible is infallible. After one student started questioning and challenging him, Hendel told the student “If you disagree with the approach we use, that’s an F.”

<a href="https://ethnicstudies.berkeley.edu/people/hatem-bazian/">Hatem Bazian</a> is a professor of Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the <a href="https://zaytuna.edu/academics/faculty/hatem-bazian">co-founder and assistant professor </a>at Zaytuna College, which is the only accredited American college in which the curriculum is based on Islamic fundamentals. Bazian’s resume is littered with antisemitic and pro-terror incidents, both on and off-campus.

When attending San Francisco State University, Bazian accused the student newspaper of being <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/19590/profiles-in-hate-hatem-bazian">infiltrated by “Jewish spies</a>,” and allegedly denied Jewish students jobs while serving as Student Body President, claiming their support of Israel exhibited their racism.

Bazian’s activism grew more militant with time. At an Islamic conference in 1999, he was quoted by the Detroit Free Press reciting an Islamic Hadith <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/8865/hatem-bazian-personal-story">calling for the slaughter of Jews</a>.

After 79 members of Students for Justice in Palestine were arrested for disrupting a Holocaust memorial, Bazian asserted that the university's actions were racially motivated. During the subsequently organized protests, Bazain <a href="https://www.jweekly.com/2018/10/22/berkeley-city-councils-shameful-tolerance-of-anti-semitism/">insinuated that powerful Jews controlled the University and orchestrated the arrests</a>.

Bazian’s thinly veiled antisemitism is seamlessly <a href="https://canarymission.org/professor/Hatem_Bazian">interlaced with his anti-Israel demagoguery</a>. A proponent of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement,  Bazian has called for the dismantlement of the state of Israel and has praised the terrorist group Hamas. Bazian <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfv5yaKxNgo&amp;ab_channel=HamasOnCampus">openly called for a domestic insurrection</a> within America. Calling the crowd to arms at a 2003 anti-war rally, Bazian called for an “Intifada” to start in America.

The Intifada was then in the midst of its third year of blood-soaked carnage in Israel. Before it abated in 2006, <a href="https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/comprehensive-listing-of-terrorism-victims-in-israel">over one thousand men, women, and children would perish</a> from sniper fire and suicide attacks on buses, markets, and restaurants. The most gruesome attacks included the <a href="https://www.algemeiner.com/2020/10/26/what-the-ramallah-lynchings-taught-us-about-palestinian-incitement/">public lynching and disembowelment of two Israeli soldiers</a>, and the <a href="https://www.jpost.com/arab-israeli-conflict/18-years-after-sbarro-suicide-attack-pa-has-paid-910823-to-the-culprits-598106">bombing of a Sbarro pizzeria</a>, killing 15 civilians, including 7 children and a pregnant woman.

Extending to the classroom and beyond, Bazian has co-founded two anti-Israel groups: <a href="https://canarymission.org/organization/SJP">Students for Justice in Palestine</a> (SJP), and American Muslims for Palestine (AMP).

Bazian co-founded SJP with fellow professor <a href="https://professorwatchlist.org/professor/snehalshingavi">Snehal Shingavi</a> in 2001 in solidarity with Palestinian groups, as the Intifada raged in Israel. The group is known for its belligerent tactics and hostility towards Jewish and pro-Israel students on campus. SJP openly calls for the destruction of Israel and has never been shy about their support for Hamas. <a href="https://canarymission.org/individual/Azka_Fayyaz">A student senator and member of SJP</a> at UC Davis <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/new-film-depicts-jewish-students-growing-insecurity-on-campus/">welcomed “Hamas and sharia law"</a> to campus.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SF2qAJl65k&amp;ab_channel=CanaryMission">American Muslims for Palestine</a>, of which Bazian serves as Chairman, is rooted in the now-defunct Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP). Facing scrutiny by the federal government over its ties to overseas jihadist groups, IAP ceased operations in 2003 to avoid prosecution. Many of the staff then <a href="https://docs.house.gov/meetings/FA/FA18/20160419/104817/HHRG-114-FA18-Wstate-SchanzerJ-20160419.pdf">reconstituted under the new banner of AMP with Bazian as Chairman</a>. Screenshots from IAP’s former website show that the group openly encouraged Islamic terrorism and what can only be described as ethnic cleansing of Jews.

Bazian is a tenured professor at one of the world’s most prestigious colleges. Tens of thousands of students have passed through his classroom while accruing many thousands more in debt, over his many decades in academia. His radicalism isn’t hidden—Bazian has openly embraced and preached the most radical, violent, and bigoted positions imaginable and sought to inspire future leaders with those same values.

<a href="https://www.law.berkeley.edu/our-faculty/faculty-profiles/john-powell/">John A. Powell</a> is a Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. During a<a href="http://www.whiteprivilegeconference.com/"> White Privilege Conference</a>, Powell was caught on film saying that the Bush Administration deliberately took money away from strengthening the levees during Hurricane Katrina because the levees were protecting black people.

<a href="https://vcresearch.berkeley.edu/faculty/nancy-scheper-hughes">Nancy Scheper-Hughes</a> is the Chancellor’s Professor Emerita in the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Berkely. Her university biography <a href="https://vcresearch.berkeley.edu/faculty/nancy-scheper-hughes">states</a> that Scheper-Hughes approaches her work through a “politically engaged perspective” to examine “structural and political violence.”

Anti-Second Amendment 
Immediately following the Pulse nightclub shooting, in which a Muslim man who pledged allegiance to ISIS <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/multiple-injuries-shooting-orlando-nightclub-police/story?id=39789552">entered Pulse, a gay nightclub, and opened fire, killing 50 individuals</a>, Scheper-Hughes <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160621134259/http://blogs.berkeley.edu/2016/06/19/radical-evil-a-reflection-on-the-orlando-massacre/">published</a> an article on the Berkeley Blog, a university website, to reflect on the events of the previous evening, titled, Radical evil: A reflection on the Orlando massacre.

In her article, Hughes <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160621134259/http://blogs.berkeley.edu/2016/06/19/radical-evil-a-reflection-on-the-orlando-massacre/">describes</a> the Pulse nightclub as a “sacred space” that was attacked by a man she describes as “radically evil.” However, she then blames the killings on hate speech of the “trumpers'' and the <a href="https://home.nra.org/">National Rifle Association</a>.

Referring to the Second Amendment in the post, Scheper-Hughes <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20160621134259/http://blogs.berkeley.edu/2016/06/19/radical-evil-a-reflection-on-the-orlando-massacre/">states</a> that we have “failed as a democracy” to let “one amendment trump” all other amendments, leading to killings like the one in Orlando. She alleges that massacres throughout American history are typically committed by “orthodox conservatives” that suffer from a "perversity of heart."

Censorship
In mid-2017, the Berkely College Republicans <a href="https://twitter.com/BerkeleyCRs/status/884816647546064896">announced</a> on the group's Twitter account that they would host popular commentator Ben Shapiro. In an article for the website, CounterPunch, Scheper-Hughes <a href="https://www.counterpunch.org/2017/09/13/the-great-wall-of-uc-berkeley-vs-baby-face-shapiro/">decries</a> the decision to host Shapiro at the university, describing him as a “smart aleck, wisecracking, racist, sexist, misogynist, Islamophobic jerk.” She goes on to describe Shapiro as a “very dangerous, extremely controversial, physical threat” to Berkeley’s student body.

Scheper-Hughes further <a href="https://www.counterpunch.org/2017/09/13/the-great-wall-of-uc-berkeley-vs-baby-face-shapiro/">describes</a> Ben Shapiro in her article as a member of the “alt-light” that engages in hate speech. Hughes states that the First Amendment is a “work in progress” and that the amendment is “ignorant” and inadequately able to combat “hate speech.”

While acknowledging that the university is “stuck” with the protections that the First Amendment affords Ben Shapiro, Scheper-Hughes implies that free speech can be regulated to ban hate speech.

The Professor Watchlist team reached out to Scheper-Hughes for comment but has not received a reply by the time of publication.

<a href="https://polisci.berkeley.edu/people/person/andrew-little">Dr. Andrew Little</a> is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of California in Berkeley. According to his university <a href="https://vcresearch.berkeley.edu/faculty/andrew-little">biography</a>, Dr. Little’s research focuses on authoritarian politics, communication and information manipulation, and conflict.

While working as a professor at Cornell University, Dr. Little vocally opposed the hiring of conservative professors by the university. In an interview with The Cornell Daily Sun in October 2015, he stated that <a href="https://cornellsun.com/2015/10/15/cornell-faculty-donations-flood-left%E2%80%88filings-show/">the quality of research and academic integrity would suffer if universities hired conservative professors</a>.

In the same article, titled “Cornell Faculty Donations Flood Left, Filings Show,” reporters for the Cornell Daily Sun <a href="https://cornellsun.com/2015/10/15/cornell-faculty-donations-flood-left%E2%80%88filings-show/">note</a> that over 96% of the political donations of Cornell staff went to Democrats and only 4% were donated to Republican candidates.

<a href="http://rhetoric.berkeley.edu/faculty-profile/james-i-porter-1">Dr. James Porter</a>, a Professor of Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkely and formerly of the University of California, Irvine, was one of 60 professors who supported the ban of the American flag from an "inclusive" area at UC Irvine. He signed a letter claiming that the American flag is a symbol of nationalism and racism.

<a href="https://ethnicstudies.berkeley.edu/people/ramon-grosfoguel-1/">Ramon Grosfoguel</a> is an associate professor of Chicano and Latino Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. According to his university biography, Grosfoguel also specializes in decoloniality and the study of Islamophobia.

Grosfoguel is notable for his vocal opposition to the state of Israel and support for BDS. In an <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bu1PCTNGgB8&amp;ab_channel=IHRCtv">interview</a> with the Islamic Human Rights Commission during Al-Quds Day (an <a href="https://www.timesofisrael.com/on-quds-day-irans-leader-says-zionism-a-virus-that-must-be-eliminated/">Iranian holiday</a> dedicated to the destruction of Israel) not only did he claim that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinians, but that Israel is a threat to peace across the world. Grosfoguel claimed that Israel is infiltrating nations and aligning itself with openly fascist organizations in order to strangle freedom of speech.

Grosfoguel also claims that Jews <a href="https://www.okcir.com/Articles%20VII%202/Grosfoguel-FM.pdf">cynically use the Holocaust</a> to elicit sympathy from the world in order to commit atrocities against Arabs;

“The simplistic identity politics of the Holocaust hegemonic narrative that essentialized Jewish identity as homogenous eternal victims and always intentionally innocent ended with Gaza.”   

“These simplistic and reductionist narratives about the Holocaust and Jewish identity were exploited by the Zionists for the last 60 years to legitimate their fundamentalist Jewish state built upon the practices and methods of settler colonialism against the Palestinians.”                  

“Hitlerism as a continuation of colonial racist ideology came back to hunt Palestinians this time at the hands of European Jews who ironically were escaping from the Nazi Holocaust.” 

“...the Holocaust was always manipulated, abused, and institutionalized by the Israeli settler colonialist state from its foundation in 1948 until today to justify its colonial domination, expansion, and terror.”

Grosfoguel specializes in anti-colonial rhetoric. Rather than a past vestige, Grosfoguel maintains that colonialism is an ongoing attempt by Western nations—particularly Israel and the United States, to maintain dominance throughout the world. Grosfoguel lectures that the capitalistic, Christian-centered West is able to bleed poorer nations dry to maintain their wealth. He claims that Christianity itself has given rise to genocides around the world, as <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Z8ISZolAMw&amp;ab_channel=IHRCtv=2m4s">“pre-modern” societies were far more peaceful</a> than modern, Western nations.

To Grosfoguel, the concept of human rights is a Western farce that is used to justify foreign invasions. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7jFaJf-aVE&amp;ab_channel=IHRCtv=9m46s">He has claimed</a> that America is a “rogue state” that has murdered upwards of 70 million people.

“Here comes the quintessential rogue state in the world, USA, calling other nations rogue states….This is really amazing, because this country, the last 60 years, has killed more than 70 million people.”  

In the same lecture, he held nothing back when grotesquely claiming that former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfield <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7jFaJf-aVE&amp;ab_channel=IHRCtv=7m0s">should have been put to death</a> alongside Sadam Hussein for his crimes as an imperialist:

“So Donald Rumsfield should have been sitting alongside Sadam Hussein and been judged, ok? And been hanged together with him.”  

Grosfoguel travels frequently to speak about his views on decolonization and is renowned among the Left for his views on the subject. In 2018, he was invited to deliver <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pwX2ZQl0C0&amp;t=3173s&amp;ab_channel=LuiginoBracciRoa-Situaci%C3%B3nenVenezuela">opening remarks</a> addressing this topic at a Caracas-based conference hosted by Nicholas Maduro. Grosfoguel was well received at the conference and can be seen warmly greeting the dictator below.

<a href="https://ethnicstudies.berkeley.edu/people/keith-feldman-1/">Keith Feldman</a> is a head graduate advisor and an associate professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies at the University of California-Berkeley.

Speaking before the Berkeley-based conference Critical Discourses on Islamophobia, Feldman reserved most of his speech to criticize Barack Obama for killing jihadists. Labeling the administration’s <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/20132/uc-berkeley-and-the-islamophobia-lobby">use of drones to eliminate terrorists as Islamaphobic</a>—or what he termed as “racialization from above—he asked, “What happens when Islamophobia takes to the skies?”

Feldman compared the death of Osama bin Laden to a Jim Crow-era lynching. As he was describing his killing as the “residue of late nineteenth-century colonial settler violence,” Feldman <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/20132/uc-berkeley-and-the-islamophobia-lobby">displayed a black lynching victim in the background to serve as an analogy to his death.</a>

In 2015 while discussing his book, <a href="https://www.upress.umn.edu/book-division/books/a-shadow-over-palestine">A Shadow Over Palestine</a>, he claimed that <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/22864/berkeley-prof-race-in-america-is-like-occupation">American ghettos are akin to the Warsaw ghetto</a> during the Holocaust, which itself is akin to modern-day Palestinian refugee camps.

Feldman’s book praises the <a href="https://www.meforum.org/7244/a-radical-romance-with-the-palestinians">United World Conference Against Racism</a> held in Durban, South Africa. <a href="https://www.jpost.com/opinion/op-ed-contributors/durban-and-911-ten-years-later">The gathering is notorious for its antisemitism</a>, with vendors <a href="https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/durban-i-un-conference-against-racism-2001">selling the conspiratorial</a> ‘Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ and displaying banners that read ‘What if Hitler Had Won?’ Feldman praises this conference for uniting “hundreds” of NGOs to declare that “Zionism is racism.”

According to his university profile, Dr. Leonardo’s courses include: “Race, Whiteness Studies, and Education” and “Proseminar: Social Critique of Education.” Much of Dr. Leonardo’s work utilizes critical race theory to analyze areas such as race, class, culture, and gender in education.

Dr. Leonardo is also listed as an Affiliated Faculty Member of the Critical Theory Designated Emphasis at UC Berkeley. As part of the Graduate School of Education, the program explores the “<a href="https://gse.berkeley.edu/academics/ma-and-phd-programs/critical-studies-race-class-and-gender" target="_blank" rel="noopener">root causes and effects of white supremacy and settler colonialism in education</a>,” according to the official website.

Upon completion, those enrolled will earn a certification of “Designated Emphasis and Specialization in Critical Theory.” The university flaunts critical theory’s association with the Frankfurt School of Economics on its website. The Frankfurt School of Economics was <a href="https://www.heritage.org/sites/default/files/2020-12/BG3567.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">composed of openly Marxist economists whose writings eventually formed the basis for critical race theory</a>.

As <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2012/03/11/what-is-critical-race-theory/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ben Shapiro writes in Breitbart News</a>, critical race theory is an intellectual branch of Marxism that views America and all of its institutions as being infected with white supremacy—to the point of some, including <a href="https://www.professorwatchlist.org/professor/nikolehannahjones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Nikole Hannah-Jones</a>, even <a href="https://reason.com/2020/09/23/1619-project-nikole-hannah-jones-1776-founding-race-new-york-times/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claiming</a> America’s real founding was in 1619 when the first slave stepped foot in North America, and not 1776 when the American colonies declared independence from England.

Dr. Leonardo has additionally published a number of other articles on critical race theory, race, and education. These include titles such as, “<a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/23793406.2016.1167111?journalCode=rree20" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tropics of Whiteness</a>,” “<a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/01596306.2013.822624" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Story of Schooling: Critical Theory and the Educational Racial Contract</a>,” and, “<a href="https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13613320120117180" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Souls of White Folk</a>.” Another is titled, “<a href="https://www.taylorfrancis.com/books/mono/10.4324/9780203880371/race-whiteness-education-zeus-leonardo" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Race, Whiteness, and Education</a>,” in which he affirms the “central role” racism plays in society.

Dr. Leonardo declares racism to be systematic rather than based on individuals and must be addressed as such. He outlines the paper’s intent to interrupt this “dangerous” assertion in order to confront “whiteness” and racism in education. Further, in the same paper, Dr. Leonardo advocates the blending of Marxism and whiteness studies to understand racism. He then addresses the “myth” that whites do not think of themselves exclusively along with racial terms and that capitalism has spread “whiteness” across the globe.

In a separate lecture, Dr. Leonardo lauds critical race theory in even more explicit terms. In a lecture titled, “Who is afraid of CRT?” hosted at George Washington University, the event was <a href="https://gwtoday.gwu.edu/who%E2%80%99s-afraid-critical-race-theory-and-what-exactly-it-anyway" target="_blank" rel="noopener">marketed as an examination of “critical race theory, marxism, and whiteness studies</a>”.

In the lecture, Dr. Leonardo states the intent of his work in whiteness studies is to solve the problem of “whiteness” itself.

She has further claimed that men can give birth and has refused to say whether unborn babies are worthy of dignity.

Dr. Bridges condemned the Supreme Court ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade.—<a href="https://www.law.cornell.edu/supremecourt/text/19-1392" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dobbs V. Jackson Women’s Health Organization</a>—as an <a href="https://news.berkeley.edu/2022/06/24/khiara-m-bridges-court-abortion-ruling-is-an-assault-on-women-and-democracy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“assault” against both women and democracy.</a> Dr. Bridges further alleged that <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/video/californians-express-outrage-over-roe-163817289.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banning abortion is a form of racism</a>:

“When you have a law that makes abortion unavailable, you have a law that makes unavailable a service upon which Black people disproportionately rely, so there’s a specific racial impact.”

Since the 1973 ruling, <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/since-roe-abortion-has-killed-more-black-babies-than-the-entire-black-population-of-the-u-s-in-1960" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an estimated 20 million black children have been murdered via abortion</a>.

Speaking before a <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?521318-1/senate-judiciary-committee-hearing-abortion-access-law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate hearing</a> regarding abortion policy, Dr. Bridges refused to address John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) question regarding disproportionate rates of black abortion. She again refused to answer when asked if an unborn baby has any value.

During her testimony, Dr. Bridges referenced “persons with the capacity for pregnancy” when speaking about individuals who sought abortions. When questioned by Senator Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) if she was referring to pregnant women, Dr. Bridges replied that she was referring to all “cis-women, trans-men, and non-binary people.”

When further pressed if abortion is a women’s rights issue, Dr. Bridges accused Hawley of asking questions that exposed “trans people to violence.”

Dr. Bridges then asked Hawley if he believes that men can become pregnant. Astonished, Hawley replied, “No, I don’t think men can get pregnant,” she further accused him of denying that trans people exist.

Felarca asked the judge to dismiss the charges on the grounds that she was the victim of a “political witch hunt,” but the<a href="https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2018/05/10/judge-refuses-dismiss-charges-antifa-leader-yvette-felarca-n257842" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> judge ruled the felony case against her could proceed</a>. After the arrests, conservative outlet Judicial Watch filed a request to the Berkeley Unified School District to release any emails related to Felarca and her Antifa group, BAMN. Felarca then sued the district, claiming that releasing the emails would violate her rights to free speech and freedom of expression. The judge, however, <a href="https://hotair.com/john-s-2/2018/11/01/judge-orders-release-yvette-felarcas-emails-n264708" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled that releasing the documents</a> did not violate any rights. The judge also ruled that Felarca was required to pay Judicial Watch $22,000 for their legal fees for filing a frivolous lawsuit against them.
Over 150 pages of emails were released to Judicial Watch. One email even mentioned how Felarca requires her students to participate in political activities, <a href="https://www.berkeleyside.org/2018/10/30/berkeley-unified-flooded-with-angry-calls-threats-over-felarca-records-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including having students make anti-Trump stickers</a>, in class.

<a href="http://womens-studies.rutgers.edu/faculty/core-faculty/143-jasbir-puar">Dr. Jasbir Puar</a>, a professor at Rutgers University, was invited to speak at Vassar. Her lecture was titled “Inhumanist Biopolitics: How Palestine Matters.” In her lecture, she accuses Israel of “stunting” growth of Palestinian bodies through scientific experiment as well as harvesting their organs.

<a href="http://www.kevin-allred.com/">Kevin Allred</a> was an adjunct instructor at Rutgers University. He underwent a psych evaluation after a series of questionable and possibly threatening tweets relating to Trump and the Second Amendment. He also went to Twitter after the election to complain that Rutgers had not publicly ensured the safety of students after Trump won. He also teaches a class called "Politicizing Beyonce". He was <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2016/11/21/rutgers-places-adjunct-leave-tweets-he-says-were-based-rhetoric-president-elect">placed</a> on administrative leave as of 2016

<a href="https://rcws10.rutgers.edu/faculty/Chikindas/">Professor Michael Chikindas</a>, Rutgers University, posted frequent anti-Semitic comments, at one point referring to Jewish people as “international fat Jewish pockets.” “These jewish [sic] motherf*****s do not control me. They can go f**k each other in their fat a***s - you see, I really do not have anything to loose [sic], hence nothing to be controlled,” he wrote in response to an article titled “The Globalists: Who Control Us!”.

<a href="http://history.rutgers.edu/faculty-directory/174-markowitz-norman">Dr. Norman Markowitz</a> is a Professor of History at Rutgers University. Dr. Markowitz is also an active member of the Communist Party USA since 1978.  He writes and teaches about communism using his “Marxist Perspective.” As a supporter of Obama, Markowitz said that it would be good if Obama’s policies were labeled socialist because it would bring socialism to the forefront and looked at more seriously as a viable option for Americans. He has been a longtime defender of the Communist spies Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, and has said he has “enormous respect” for Howard Zinn, a Marxist historian.

<a href="http://www.polisci.rutgers.edu/cb-profile/userprofile/whfield">Dr. William Field</a>, a professor at Rutgers University, sent out an email to all political science majors and minors to protest against Condoleeza Rice serving as their commencement speaker. He was also said to have congratulated one of the lead organizers of the protest who had damaged university property.

<a href="https://law.rutgers.edu/directory/view/mbk69" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Margo Kaplan</a> is a Professor of Law at <a href="https://law.rutgers.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rutgers University Law School</a> in Camden, New Jersey. According to her university biography, she teaches courses on “Criminal Law, Health Law and Policy, and Sex Crimes” and explores the “legal limitations on intimate decisions.”

Dr. Kaplan has spent her academic career attempting to normalize pedophilia. In a paper for the <a href="https://scholarlycommons.law.wlu.edu/wlulr/vol72/iss1/4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Washington and Lee Law Review</a>, she advocates for the reclassification of pedophilia as a mental disorder so that pedophiles may be awarded more civil rights:

“...we should not categorically deny pedophilia the civil rights protections afforded to other mental disorders without a convincing normative justification supported by cogent scientific evidence. Strengthening civil rights protections for those with pedophilia also increases access to treatment and support that helps prevent child abuse.”

In a similar piece for the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/06/opinion/pedophilia-a-disorder-not-a-crime.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a><a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/06/opinion/pedophilia-a-disorder-not-a-crime.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Times</a>—titled, "Pedophilia: A Disorder, Not a Crime,"—Dr. Kaplan attempts a sickening effort to lure readers into sympathizing with pedophiles by characterizing pedophiles as adolescents with harmless, childhood crushes.

“THINK back to your first childhood crush. Maybe it was a classmate or a friend next door. Most likely, through school and into adulthood, your affections continued to focus on others in your approximate age group. But imagine if they did not. By some estimates, 1 percent of the male population continues, long after puberty, to find themselves attracted to prepubescent children. These people are living with pedophilia, a sexual attraction to prepubescents that often constitutes a mental illness. Unfortunately, our laws are failing them and, consequently, ignoring opportunities to prevent child abuse.”

Her intellectual sleight of hand is prevalent in both pieces. Kaplan blames the abuse of children partially on what she views as the severity in which society treats pedophilia, resulting in pedophiles abstaining from seeking treatment.

When later interviewed by <a href="https://www.phillymag.com/news/2014/10/06/pedophilia-not-a-crime-rutgers-margo-kaplan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Philadelphia Magazine</a>, Dr. Kapland claimed to be “shocked” at the amount of support she had received, accusing critics she did have of not even reading her article.

<a href="https://history.rutgers.edu/people/faculty/details/1143-bray-mark">Mark Bray</a> is a part-time lecturer in the Department of History at Rutgers University.

Bray first gained notoriety in 2017 when he <a href="https://www.mhpbooks.com/books/antifa/">authored</a> "The Anti-Fascist Handbook," and offered to <a href="https://campusreform.org/?id=14972">donate</a> half of the proceeds to ANTIFA.

Bray fully endorses ANTIFA’s embrace of violence as a tactic, and often describes it as “self-defense”. He has <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=9616">stated</a> that in order to “preemptively” shut down far-right events and gatherings,  “physical violence against white supremacists is both ethically justifiable and strategically effective.”

Soon after publication, he appeared on NBC to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/antifa-violence-ethical-author-explains-why-n796106">defend</a> the use of force against opposing protestors. He claimed that as an illiberal organization, ANTIFA has and will continue to shut down the free speech of the far right.

Bray recently penned an op-ed in the <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2020/06/01/trump-antifa-terrorist-organization/">Washington Post</a> in the midst of mass-rioting following the death of George Floyd. After expressing sympathy with the looters, Bray claims that police officers are, in fact, deadlier than ANTIFA.  He wrote, “...and in the United States, ANTIFA have never killed anyone, unlike their enemies in Klan hoods and squad cars.” 

After his views were <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/red-alert-politics/dartmouth-president-disavows-professor-justified-antifa-violence-self-defense">condemned</a> by Dartmouth University - his employer at the time - Bray soon began lecturing at Rutgers, where his university biography describes him as a “historian of human rights, terrorism, and politics in Modern Europe.”

<a href="https://asianlanguages.rutgers.edu/menu-i/69-richard-vanness-simmons">Richard VanNess Simmons</a> is a professor of Chinese and East Asian Studies and serves as the <a href="https://www.ciru.rutgers.edu/about-us/people-2">Director of the Confucius Institute</a> at Rutgers University. The Confucius Institute is funded by the Chinese Communist Party and serves as a focal point for the dissemination of propaganda and foreign espionage on American campuses.

<a href="https://africanastudies.rutgers.edu/people/core-faculty/people-list/30-faculty/140-brittney-cooper">Brittney Cooper</a> is an associate professor of Africana and Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University. Much of her research and writing centers around the intersections of race, feminism, and gender. Cooper’s work has led her to develop a number of bizarre opinions:

 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Linear time is a product of a Euro-centric world, or in short,<a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/rutgers-professor-even-the-concept-of-time-is-racist/"> our concept of time is racist.</a></li>
 	<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A founding principle of our nation is that black people are inhuman, therefore<a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/29/black_americas_baltimore_schism_why_the_freddie_gray_tragedy_demands_serious_soul_searching/"> riots are really just resistance</a> against an unjust system.</li>

Cooper has attributed most of the deaths from the pandemic to racism and conservatives, stating that, “I feel like most Black people are clear that this utterly absurd push to re-open the country is all about a gross necropolitical calculation that it is Black people who are dying disproportionately from COVID,” and <a href="https://www.thecollegefix.com/rutgers-university-prof-reopening-the-country-is-about-killing-black-people/">blaming Trump supporters for the hundreds of thousands of deaths</a> due to the coronavirus.

Cooper has previously stated that a conservative’s beliefs are “rooted in racism.” In an appearance on MSNBC, <a href="https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/duncan-schroeder/2020/08/30/deranged-msnbc-pundit-goes-hateful-rant-against-trump-voters">Cooper stated that conservatives have a desire for power</a> at the expense of black and brown Americans.

Cooper has denigrated conservatives throughout her career along racial lines. <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?444245-2/eloquent-rage&amp;playEvent">During a speech in Baltimore</a>, she stated that as white men lose their power, they will continue to “terrorize” black men and women. In a previous thread, she stated that the black community is being eaten alive by “capitalism, patriarchy, and racism,” and white people won’t feel any negative consequences of these systems so long as they can continue to displace white people through systems like gentrification.

Ms. <a href="https://crimjust.rutgers.edu/people/faculty-directory/details/30-faculty/faculty/620-erakat-noura">Noura Erakat</a> is an Assistant Professor of Africana Studies at Rutgers University. According to her university profile, Professor Erakat specializes in fields that include international law, humanitarian law, human rights law, national security law, refugee law, and critical race theory. A harsh critic of the state of Israel, the professor has repeatedly demonized and called for the destruction of the only Jewish state in the world.

Professor Erakat’s work frequently characterizes Israel as a racist state that is equivalent to the apartheid-era South African government. In a November 2019 interview with DemocracyNow, she stated, ”<a href="https://www.democracynow.org/2019/11/19/noura_erakat_israeli_settlements_trump_announcement">we are witnessing the entrenchment of an apartheid regime</a>, and the U.S. [is] at the helm of that process.”

Professor Erakat repeats this false claim to justify her support of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. In a November 2020 video panel discussion with the Middle East Institute, Professor Erakat calls on the world <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S7ZkKMFUuU&amp;t=3956s">to resist and alienate Israel via adherence to a BDS platform</a>.

BDS—short for Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions—supporters embrace the following three tenets as a feature of the campaign:

- Boycotting all goods that originate from the state of Israel;

- Divesting all funds (private or public) that are allocated to Israel; and

- Placing sanctions exclusively on Israel.

Mr. Omar Barghouti, a co-founder of the BDS movement, admits that the ultimate outcome of these steps is the <a href="https://twitter.com/StandWithUs/status/1267561561565958144">dismantlement of the state of Israel</a>.

Professor Erakat likewise calls for Israel to be destroyed and replaced by an Arab-majority Palestinian state. As reported by The Spectator in July 2019, Ms. Erakat spoke at an event in Washington, DC, where she <a href="https://spectator.org/noura-erakat-recounts-her-anxiety-over-israels-existence/">advocated for Arabs to “help indigenize” Jews in Israel </a>in order to achieve a sole Palestinian state or a “one-state solution.”

Professor Erakat is far more brazen in calling for the outright destruction of Israel when speaking at anti-Israel protests around the country. During one march in May 2021—captured by News2Share—she called for the <a href="https://twitter.com/FordFischer/status/1393739882825195521/">liberation of Palestine, “from the river to the sea.</a>”

According to the Israeli newspaper Arutz Sheva, the chant, “from the river to the sea,” was <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/291203">popularized by terrorist groups such as the Palestinian Liberation Organization</a> (PLO). The phrase alludes to the destruction of Israel—and thus the genocide of the nation’s Jews—between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/1948/08/02/archives/aim-to-oust-jews-pledged-by-sheikh-head-of-moslem-brotherhood-says.html">The chant is thought to originate from the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood, Hassan el-Banna</a>, who was qouted by The New York Times stating, "If the Jewish state becomes a fact, and this is realized by the Arab peoples, they will drive the Jews who live in their midst into the sea."

Even though Professor Erakat can be heard calling for the “denuclearization of Israel” in the same speech, she had in 2013 <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I20HOx5zfv0&amp;ab_channel=JFhsfohhMN">condemned efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program as “racist</a>.”

She further <a href="https://www.instagram.com/tv/CMzhsZtBfgg/?igshid=5p918cganhq1">defended this position</a> in a video uploaded to her Instagram in March of 2021, arguing there is no contradiction in opposing sanctions for Iran while supporting sanctions on Israel.

During a separate march in May of 2021,  Ms. Erakat can be heard chanting “By spirit and by blood, we redeem you, Palestine!” in front of the Israeli Embassy.

In April of 2020, Noura Erakat’s cousin, Mr. Ahmed Erakat, was killed after <a href="https://www.algemeiner.com/2020/06/29/palestinian-rams-a-checkpoint-death-lies-and-videotape/">ramming his car into an Israeli checkpoint during a failed terrorist attack</a>. Despite the publication of footage verifying the incident and a pipe bomb later being found in the van by investigators, Ms. Erakat continues to claim that he was murdered by Israeli forces.

Dr. James Livingston is <a href="https://history.rutgers.edu/faculty-directory/172-livingston-james" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a tenured Professor of History</a> at Rutgers University. His specialty is listed as Modern US: Intellectual and Economic History. He considers himself an “economic historian” and professionally writes many publications about politics, economics, and working in the United States.

In his personal time, Dr. Livingston often takes to Facebook to discuss similar topics, but in a less professional manner. <a href="https://pen.org/press-clip/white-professor-accused-of-antiwhite-racism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In a Facebook post from May 31, 2018</a>, Dr. Livingston denounces the white race and belligerently asserts he “hates white people.” Later in the post, he calls white Americans “little caucasian assholes who know their parents will approve of anything they do” and “little shitheads.”

When Facebook flagged the post and took it down, rather than apologize for his racist rant, he posted the following:

Shortly after his anti-white tirade, Rutgers launched an investigation into his posts. The university stated that they received several anonymous complaints about the posts, calling them to take action against the Professor. Dr. Livingston claimed he was making a statement about gentrification and told university officials that white supremacists were sending him threatening messages.

The investigation was headed by Carolyn Dellatore, the associate director of the Office of Employment Equity. <a href="https://www.thefire.org/rutgers-investigation-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Her investigation found that</a> “given Professor Livingston’s insistence on making disparaging racial comments, a reasonable student may have concerns that he or she would be stigmatized in his classes because of his or her race. As such, Professor Livingston’s comments have violated university policy.” He argued, however, that his posts were not racist because white people cannot be discriminated against. He also argued that the first amendment gave him the right to freedom of speech.

The university initially decided to sanction Dr. Livingston, but they <a href="https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/2018/11/15/no-punishment-rutgers-university-professor-over-white-people-comments-facebook/2016377002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ultimately reversed their decision</a> in November 2018, clearing him of all charges. Dr. Livingston is still teaching at Rutgers University today.

<a href="https://comminfo.rutgers.edu/kumanyika-chenjerai">Dr. Chenjerai Kumanyika</a> is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University. Dr. Kumanyika traveled to Ferguson, MO multiple times to protest the non-indictment of the white police officer who shot Michael Brown. He was also a signatory on a letter supporting the demands from the Coalition of Concerned Students who believe in prosecuting what they call “predatory behaviors and defamatory speech,” even from social media sources. The letter also calls for building a new multi-cultural center, more support for “underrepresented groups,” increasing the number of minority faculty members, and for Clemson employees to go through diversity training. Chenjerai also orchestrated a campaign against a student senate candidate and accused a candidate of racism for posing with a gun and American flag for his campaign poster.

In a course-wide email sent to his students, Dr. Miller threatened to reduce the grade of any student that did not announce their pronouns.

He further warns that failure to do so will result in a reduction of their grade.

In response to an address made by Jeff Sessions at Georgetown University, Bradley wrote an op-ed titled "Civil Debate is Fine. Protest is Better." where he argues protesting and "shutting down speeches" are the only way to promote change.

Kelli Alvarez is an <a href="https://www.ou.edu/cas/fyc/people/faculty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Assistant Teaching Professor</a> at the University of Oklahoma. Her areas of interest include race and ethnicity in literature and film as well as indigenous and other ethnic literature. Her areas of interest include race and ethnicity in literature and film as well as indigenous and other ethnic literature. Alvarez teaches freshman-level courses, including English Composition, where she requires all students to read a publication by Professor Watchlist identified <a href="https://professorwatchlist.org/professor/ibramxkendi" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ibram X. Kendi</a> titled, “When Free Speech Becomes Unfree Speech.”

<a href="https://www.law.ou.edu/directory/steven-j-cleveland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Steven J Cleveland</a> is the Alfred P. Murrah Professor of Law and Thomas P. Hester Presidential Professor at the<a href="https://law.ou.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> College of Law at the University of Oklahoma (OU</a>).

During the 2022 Spring Semester, the University of Oklahoma implemented strict mandates on students and faculty to limit the spread of COVID-19. Dr. Cleveland is currently enforcing these policies in his classroom to such an extreme extent that students are threatened with being removed from class and reported to the Dean of the school for not wearing a mask.

Upon returning for the Spring 2022 semester, students were informed by <a href="https://www.normantranscript.com/news/ou-requiring-masks-for-first-two-weeks-of-classes/article_704a7026-723a-11ec-aa7b-139ccc6f40da.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the university’s administration they will be forced to wear face masks</a> in classroom settings until February 1 when masks will then become<a href="https://www.ou.edu/together/campus-protocols/spring-2022" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> strongly recommended.</a>

This mandate is in direct contradiction with Oklahoma state law. In May of 2021, Governor Kevin Stitt <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/05/29/oklahoma-gov-kevin-stitt-bars-agencies-mask-vaccination-mandates/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">banned any state agency or building–including public universities–from requiring either a mask or vaccination status for entry</a>.

Nevertheless, professors at OU are still enforcing mask mandates and threatening to penalize students who do not comply with the restrictions. In communications reviewed by the Professor Watchlist team, professors are removing maskless students from class and threatening their grades due to the forced absences. Others refuse to even meet with students who are unvaccinated and will report unmasked students to their respective Dean.

One student, Alyssa Amundsen, vowed to defy the university mandates. She emailed each of her professors in the law school explaining that she would not wear a mask in class under any circumstance. While some professors were accommodating, many were not, and refused to allow her to attend in person.

Dr Cleveland was the most resistant to grant any exemptions. Amundsen was barred from attending class despite obtaining a medical exemption from wearing a mask last year from her doctor.

Amundsen emailed Dr. Cleveland to ask if she could attend class without a mask. Dr. Cleveland immediately refused her request and threatened to report her to the Dean of the Law School if she made a maskless appearance.

Amundsen then offered to take the class remotely via ZOOM since the course is already recorded for students who are absent due to COVID. Despite this, Dr. Cleveland again refused, stating that “taking a stand for her beliefs has consequences.”

n a follow-up conversation with two Deans of the law school—Dr. Steven Gensler and Dr. Kathleene Guzman—Amundsen was still adamant to reach a compromise. Both told her there is no recourse she and can only attend in-person classes while wearing a mask per university rules. She was eventually forced to drop the class or risk having her grade reduced due to her absences.

While an injunction has been placed on Governor Stitt’s executive order, the Judge <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/oklahoma-school-mask-mandate-ban-blocked-exemptions-79769836" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ruled that schools must include an “opt-out.” So far, OU has provided no such opt-out</a> for students and staff.

The Professor Watchlist team has reached out to Dr. Cleveland but has not received a reply by the time of publication.

Following publication, the Professor Watchlist team has received the following statement from Mackenzie Scheer, Director of Media Relations at the University of Oklahoma, in regards to our inquiry.

"Since the onset of the pandemic, OU has sought to implement protocols that will protect our community, while also allowing for our in-person experience to continue. Given the transmission rate of Omicron and supply chain issues around testing, OU instituted a temporary addendum to its existing masking policy, requiring masking in all classrooms through Jan. 31. Beginning Feb. 1, the university reverted to its Fall 2021 masking guidance that expects masking in the classroom and requires masking for a two-week quarantine period when a confirmed positive COVID-19 case in the class is identified. While the university does not grant exemptions, it does evaluate requests for accommodations in certain cases. Students in need of accommodations due to health or religious reasons were instructed by law school administrators to contact the <a href="mailto:OU%20Accessibility%20and%20Disability%20Resource%20Center" target="_blank" rel="noopener">OU Accessibility and Disability Resource Center</a> at <a href="mailto:adrc@ou.edu" target="_blank" rel="noopener">adrc@ou.edu</a> or (405) 325-3852. <a href="http://www.cla.csulb.edu/departments/journalism/people/faculty/chris-knap/">Christopher Knap</a>, a Communications Professor at CSULB, assigned a homework assignment which mocked Trump as sexist and homophobic. <a href="https://www.csulb.edu/office-of-the-president/president/about">Dr. Jane Close Conoley</a>, is the current President of California State University - Long Beach. In an op-ed from 2014, Conoley stated that if you are “light-skinned” you have “significant unearned privilege.” Moreover, these privileged individuals show distrust and “lower expectations of behavior” of those with another skin color.

Michael Park is an instructor at California State University-Long Beach. He used a media law class to disparage Tea Partiers and conservatives as being birthers. In an assignment, he implied that opposition to President Obama is based on a belief that he is not a "true American". This is similar to a class taught by Christopher Knap, a fellow CSULB professor that assigned a homework assignment implying Trump is homophobic/sexist.

<a href="https://cla.csulb.edu/departments/africanastudies/events/2021-07/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Maulana Karenga</a> is Chair of <a href="https://cla.csulb.edu/departments/africanastudies/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Africana Studies</a> at <a href="https://www.csulb.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">California State University - Long Beach</a>. Dr. Karenga was a prominent black nationalist during the 1960s and 1970s, during which time he founded the holiday, “Kwanzaa.” Prone to extremity and paranoia, Dr. Karenga was convicted for the imprisonment and torture of two women he falsely suspected of poisoning him.

Born Ronald McKinley Everett, Dr. Karenga founded <a href="http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/45a/767.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kwanzaa as a pan-African holiday</a> in 1966. Despite that most American blacks are descended from West Africa, the name and traditions are based on East African Swahili. He would further <a href="https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2014/12/kwanzaa__a_madeup_holiday_.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">state the holiday’s proximity to Christmas was intentional, as otherwise it wouldn't be noticed</a> by the black community.

People think it’s African. But it’s not. I wanted to give black people a holiday of their own. So I came up with Kwanzaa. I said it was African because you know black people in this country wouldn’t celebrate it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas because I knew that’s when a lot of bloods [blacks] would be partying!

Dr. Kerenga intended for Kwanzaa to replace Christian and Jewish holidays. As he wrote in his book—Kawaida Theory—Western faith, “denies and diminishes human worth, capacity, potential and achievement." In Christian and Jewish mythology, humans are born in sin, cursed with mythical ancestors who've sinned and brought the wrath of an angry God on every generation's head.”

Dr. Karenga adopted his current name after embracing black nationalism while living on the West Coast in the 1960s. He would go on to found his own group—titled, <a href="https://www.us-organization.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Organization US</a>—as a more radical alternative to his rivals in the Black Panther Party.

<a href="http://web.stanford.edu/~ccarson/articles/am_left.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Black Panthers</a>—known officially as the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense—was a black-nationalist and Marxist organization that operated largely in California during the 1960s and 1970s. Known for their violent tactics and enforcement of party discipline, members would<a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/whitewashing-the-black-panthers" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> pour boiling water over suspected </a>police informants. Co-founder, Huey Newton, is <a href="https://www.salon.com/1999/12/13/betty/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suspected to have taken part in multiple murders</a> committed by the Panthers.

Dr. Karenga’s organization frequently clashed with the rival, Black Panthers. Following a dispute over who would lead the Afro-American Studies Center at UCLA, <a href="https://freerepublic.com/focus/news/600011/posts?page=7" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Organization US members shot two Black Panthers to death on the campus in 1969</a> which set off a series of shootings across Los Angeles that summer. The incident caused Dr. Karenga to fall into paranoia and suspect his own followers of plotting to kill him.

On the evening of May 9th, 1970, Dr. Karenga and several of his followers confronted two women who were staying at his home. He accused both of placing poison “crystals” in his food and water. According to court testimony, the women were then stripped naked, bound, and ordered to confess. Dr. Karenga tortured both women over the next two days, beating each with an electrical cord, and then branded them with a soldering iron.

While awaiting trial, Dr. Karenga’s mental health continued to deteriorate. The court-appointed psychologist found him to be schizophrenic, and reportedly caught Dr. Karenga speaking to hallucinations in his jail cell:

“Since his admission here he has been isolated and has been exhibiting bizarre behavior, such as staring at the wall, talking to imaginary persons, claiming that he was attacked by dive-bombers and that his attorney was in the next cell. During part of the interview he would look around as if reacting to a hallucination and when the examiner walked away for a moment he began a conversation with a blanket located on his bed. This man now presents a picture which can be considered both paranoid and schizophrenic with hallucinations and elusions, inappropriate affect, disorganization, and impaired contact with the environment.” 

The court later sentenced him to one to ten years in jail for two counts of felonious assault, and one count of false imprisonment. However, he was granted parole in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kwanzaa-was-invented-insane-leftist-gangster-who-michael-j-knowles" target="_blank" rel="noopener">1975 thanks to a letter-writing campaign by his followers.</a>

While in jail, Karenga converted his ideology from Black Nationalism to explicit Marxism. In 1978, just a few years after his release, Dr. Karenga was hired as the Chair of the African Studies department, where he now resides as of March 2022.

<a href="https://alexanderreidross.net/curriculum-vitae/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Alexander Reid Ross</a> is an Instructor in the <a href="https://www.pdx.edu/geography/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Geography Department</a> at <a href="https://www.pdx.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Portland State University</a>.
Dr. Ross is a supporter of anti-fascist movements—commonly referred to as “ANTIFA”— across the country. As a journalist, he regularly publishes favorable articles about far-left protests that descend into violence while writing for publications that are supportive of ANTIFA.
As <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/dhs-leaked-email-confirms-that-antifa-is-an-organized-group" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by The Post-Millennial, leaked emails from the Department of Homeland Security show that law enforcement agencies identify ANTIFA as an organization that engages in “organized” rather than sporadic violence. Many <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/guns-knives-and-other-weapons-confiscated-from-suspects-at-portland-antifa-riot/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">members arm themselves with knives and firearms</a> to violently confront conservatives at events. In the Summer of 2021, <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/us-attorneys-office-in-dc-refuses-to-investigate-attack-on-rand-paul/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">members of ANTIFA attacked Senator Rand Paul</a> and his wife as they walked through Washington D.C.
As the publication Quillete has identified, <a href="https://quillette.com/2019/05/29/its-not-your-imagination-the-journalists-writing-about-antifa-are-often-their-cheerleaders/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">far-left journalists based in Portland frequently provide favorable coverage to ANTIFA</a> factions for sympathetic outlets. One such individual is Dr. Ross, who writes for prominent publications, such as VICE, The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, and the New York Times.
He has additionally written a book—titled, “Against the Fascist Creep”—in defense of ANTIFA and their confrontational tactics. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOS0O4nndb4&amp;ab_channel=FoxAlive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">While speaking at the Orange County Anarchist Book Fair in 2017 about the book,</a> he stated that “militant ways” are needed to keep Republicans and conservatives in check, comparing both to the murderous Klu Klux Klan.

Upon its founding in 1980 as an alternative to mainstream environmental groups, <a href="https://www.britannica.com/topic/Earth-First" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Earth First! adopted the slogan, “No compromise in defense of Mother Earth.</a>” The organization encourages militant, direct action or “monkeywrenching” to cripple targeted industries. Members have been known to <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2018/08/04/eco-terrorists-earth-first-dakota-pipeline/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sabotage pipelines</a> and <a href="https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/07/why_is_joe_biden_still_standing_by_his_mendacious_earth_first_nominee_for_bureau_of_land_management.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lumber mills, often endangering the lives of workers</a> in the process.
<a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/about/">It’s Going Down</a> is an online news site dedicated to promulgating ANTIFA’s anarchist worldview and highlighting protests with an ANTIFA Presence. Dr. Ross frequently contributes to the site in <a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/antifa-worldwide-brief-history-international-antifascism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">order to defend and praise antifascist movements</a>.
In one post, Dr. Ross<a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/responding-fascist-creep-interview-alexander-reid-ross/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> praises violent ANTIFA groups across the country,</a> including the Portland-based “Rose City Antifa.”

Rose City Antifa frequently confronts and assaults conservative protests in Portland. The group is <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2019/07/31/rose-city-antifa-claims-attack-andy-ngo/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most infamously known for its attack on Andy Ngo</a>. <a href="https://alexanderreidross.net/curriculum-vitae/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Alexander Reid Ross</a> is an Instructor in the <a href="https://www.pdx.edu/geography/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Geography Department</a> at <a href="https://www.pdx.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Portland State University</a>.

Dr. Ross is a supporter of anti-fascist movements—commonly referred to as “ANTIFA”— across the country. As a journalist, he regularly publishes favorable articles about far-left protests that descend into violence while writing for publications that are supportive of ANTIFA.

As <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/dhs-leaked-email-confirms-that-antifa-is-an-organized-group" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by The Post-Millennial, leaked emails from the Department of Homeland Security show that law enforcement agencies identify ANTIFA as an organization that engages in “organized” rather than sporadic violence. Many <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/guns-knives-and-other-weapons-confiscated-from-suspects-at-portland-antifa-riot/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">members arm themselves with knives and firearms</a> to violently confront conservatives at events. In the Summer of 2021, <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/us-attorneys-office-in-dc-refuses-to-investigate-attack-on-rand-paul/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">members of ANTIFA attacked Senator Rand Paul</a> and his wife as they walked through Washington D.C.

As the publication Quillete has identified, <a href="https://quillette.com/2019/05/29/its-not-your-imagination-the-journalists-writing-about-antifa-are-often-their-cheerleaders/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">far-left journalists based in Portland frequently provide favorable coverage to ANTIFA</a> factions for sympathetic outlets. One such individual is Dr. Ross, who writes for prominent publications, such as VICE, The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, and the New York Times.

He has additionally written a book—titled, “Against the Fascist Creep”—in defense of ANTIFA and their confrontational tactics. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOS0O4nndb4&amp;ab_channel=FoxAlive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">While speaking at the Orange County Anarchist Book Fair in 2017 about the book,</a> he stated that “militant ways” are needed to keep Republicans and conservatives in check, comparing both to the murderous Klu Klux Klan.

Dr. has also written for publications such as the <a href="https://antifascistnews.net/2016/12/24/trump-the-fascist/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">radical environmentalist magazine, Earth First!</a>, and the ANTIFA-sympathetic publication, <a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">It’s Going Down</a>.

Upon its founding in 1980 as an alternative to mainstream environmental groups, <a href="https://www.britannica.com/topic/Earth-First" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Earth First! adopted the slogan, “No compromise in defense of Mother Earth.</a>” The organization encourages militant, direct action or “monkeywrenching” to cripple targeted industries. Members have been known to <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2018/08/04/eco-terrorists-earth-first-dakota-pipeline/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sabotage pipelines</a> and <a href="https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2021/07/why_is_joe_biden_still_standing_by_his_mendacious_earth_first_nominee_for_bureau_of_land_management.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lumber mills, often endangering the lives of workers</a> in the process.

<a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/about/">It’s Going Down</a> is an online news site dedicated to promulgating ANTIFA’s anarchist worldview and highlighting protests with an ANTIFA Presence. Dr. Ross frequently contributes to the site in <a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/antifa-worldwide-brief-history-international-antifascism/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">order to defend and praise antifascist movements</a>.

In one post, Dr. Ross<a href="https://itsgoingdown.org/responding-fascist-creep-interview-alexander-reid-ross/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> praises violent ANTIFA groups across the country,</a> including the Portland-based “Rose City Antifa.”

Dr. Adair proposed indoctrinating children as young as kindergarten in racial issues, in order to ‘prevent another Ferguson.&#8217; One proposed project involved having the students make protest signs about racial injustice or other art projects about school integration or bus boycotts. Adair and the other professors working with her drew heavily from the philosophy of radical historian Howard Zinn in their effort.

Dr. Vincent was Vice-President for Diversity and Community Engagement at the University of Texas-Austin. On two separate occasions, he condemned an affirmative action bake sale as "demeaning" and "deplorable". Leaving to assume the role of President of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, he later <a href="https://www.jbhe.com/2018/04/gregory-vincent-resigns-as-president-of-hobart-and-william-smith-colleges/">resigned</a> after allegations arose that he plagiarized his doctoral dissertation.

<a href="http://liberalarts.utexas.edu/history/faculty/profile.php?id=jn324">Dr. Joan Neuberger</a>, a professor at University of Texas-Austin led anti-campus carry efforts, including a petition to bar students who conceal carry from entering classrooms, in violation of Texas law. A change.org petition organized by the same group said, “WE OPPOSE GUNS IN OUR CLASSROOMS AS A DIRECT ASSAULT ON OUR FREE SPEECH RIGHTS.” Despite her proclamations about the dangers of guns, Neuberger is not actually a statistician or criminal justice professor, but a Russian history professor.

<a href="http://www.utexas.edu/cola/rs/faculty/profile.php?id=jt27">Dr. John Traphagan</a> is a Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Texas, Austin. A Campus Reform article states, "In a column for the Dallas Morning News, University of Texas at Austin professor John Traphagan said Americans are 'unable to handle' gun ownership. According to Traphagan, the U.S. should curtail or eliminate the ability to purchase guns and 'prohibit many forms of gun ownership.'"

<a href="http://journalism.utexas.edu/faculty/robert-jensen">Dr. Robert Jensen</a> is a Professor of Journalism at the University of Texas, Austin. In an essay on a social justice website, Jensen argued that rape is part of the larger violent, patriarchy. He told Campus Reform that, “I don’t believe there will be any serious progress toward eliminating men’s violence against women if we do not address the toxic notions about masculinity in patriarchy—masculinity understood as rooted in control, conquest, aggression.” Jensen also attacked a major anti-sexual assault group for blaming the perpetrators for rape, instead of focusing on the patriarchal culture as the main cause.

<a href="https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/english/faculty/sas347">Snehal Shingavi</a> is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Texas, Austin.

While teaching at the University of California, Berkeley, Shingavi co-founded the anti-Israel group <a href="https://canarymission.org/organization/sjp">Students for Justice in Palestine</a> (SJP) with Professor Hatem Bazian.  SJP is known for its vitriolic campaigns and aggressively confronting Jewish and pro-Israel students on campus. They are also known for their active role in Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaigns on university campuses.

Snehal first generated controversy at UC Berkeley in 2002 for his <a href="https://www.meforum.org/campus-watch/7789/hardball-interview-with-snehal-shingavi">course</a>, "The Politics and Poetics of Palestinian Resistance." The course description alleged that Israel has “systematically displaced, killed and maimed millions of Palestinian people.”

The course also all, but outright barred conservative students from attending: “This class takes as its starting point the right of Palestinians to fight for their own self-determination. Conservative thinkers are encouraged to seek other sections.”

Now teaching at UT Austin, <a href="https://canarymission.org/professor/Snehal_Shingavi">Shehal</a> is a regular at protests and events committed to demonizing Israel. During a 2014 lecture, he <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAGtcdPL244&amp;feature=youtu.be&amp;t=13m15s">likened</a> Israel to Nazi Germany, claiming, “This is not me being hyperbolic…..Gaza is the biggest open air concentration camp in the world today and the condition of life in Gaza is not dissimilar to life in Auschwitz and Dachau.”

Thomas K. Hubbard was the James R. Dougherty Jr. Centennial Professor of Classics, <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20190905194331/https://minio.la.utexas.edu/colaweb-prod/person_files/0/354/thomas_k_hubbard_curriculum_vitae.pdf">who taught at the University of Texas-Austin from 1988 t0 2021</a>. Hubbard’s body of research included ancient pederasty – adult male sexual relations with underage boys  – which Hubbard calls the “<a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2019/12/17/ut-students-protest-professors-house-over-his-writings-on-sexual-relations-between-men-and-boys/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">romantic courtship</a>” of teenage boys by older men.

Writing in the peer-reviewed Thymos Journal of Boyhood Studies, Hubbard detailed this position in an article titled, <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/276216200_Sexual_Consent_and_the_Adolescent_Male_or_What_Can_We_Learn_from_the_Greeks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sexual Consent and the Adolescent Male, or What Can We Learn From the Greeks</a>. Hubbard <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/2019/12/18/a-ut-professor-advocates-pedophilia-why-are-we-paying-for-it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">claims</a> that there are great benefits to relationships between older men and teenage boys by appealing to the portrayal of these relationships in Greek artworks and myths.

Hubbard also <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/2019/12/18/a-ut-professor-advocates-pedophilia-why-are-we-paying-for-it/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">states</a> that sexual relationships between teenage boys and adult men can replace the lack of intimacy that a boy might experience if the young man has an absent father.

Hubbard utilizes his research on pederasty to buoy his advocacy for lowering the federal legal age for sexual consent. Hubbard also <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2019/12/17/ut-students-protest-professors-house-over-his-writings-on-sexual-relations-between-men-and-boys/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decries age-of-consent laws</a>, calling them a “sad by-product” of the Victorian era that prevented sexual liberation.

Hubbard made the distinction, in a <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20200216112913if_/https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wGGrODNSdwudrF1G4uerU2DsRxcSx3DR1Nbn6JOd7ho/edit" target="_blank" rel="noopener">now-deleted google document</a>, that he was speaking on behalf of pederasty and not pedophilia. He continues in the Doc by extolling several nations for having age-of-consent laws that were lower than the United States.

Hubbard’s work has been distributed and used by <a href="https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2019/12/17/ut-students-protest-professors-house-over-his-writings-on-sexual-relations-between-men-and-boys/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">groups like the North American Man/Boy Love Association</a> (NAMBLA), which advocates for the abolishment of age-of-consent laws between children and adults.

The University of Texas-Austin’s administration reaffirmed Hibbard’s right to <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/students-want-thomas-hubbard-fired-for-work-on-pederasty-but-university-of-texas-says-its-protected-speech" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“explore controversial and offensive ideas</a>.” As of December 2020, <a href="https://www.statesman.com/story/news/education/2020/07/23/ut-professor-accused-of-promoting-pedophilia-sues-student-for-libel/42515639/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hubbard is suing a student and 10 others for libel</a> after they distributed flyers labeling him a pedophile.
UPDATE 
A university spokeswoman has informed the Professor Watchlist team that Thomas Hubbard is no longer employed at the University of Texas. As stated in their response, Dr. Hubbard announced his retirement in July of 2021 and is no longer associated with the University in any capacity.

Despite their written statement, <a href="https://cola.utexas.edu/european_studies/people/faculty/thubbard">Dr. Hubbard was still listed on the university website</a> as a professor in the Center for European Studies at the time of the university's letter

In a follow-up conversation with the university spokeswomen, Dr. Hubbard's profile was removed from the European Studies page and he is no longer listed as a faculty member with the University as of December 15th, 2021.

John O. Brennan is a <a href="https://intelligencestudies.utexas.edu/about/leadership" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Distinguished Scholar</a> and <a href="https://www.strausscenter.org/person/john-o-brennan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senior Advisor to the Intelligence Studies Project</a> at the <a href="https://www.utexas.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University of Texas-Austin</a>. Brennan also serves as a <a href="https://www.centeronnationalsecurity.org/fellows#john-o-brennan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Distinguished Fellow for Global Security</a> for the Center on National Security at <a href="https://www.fordham.edu/site/index.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fordham University</a>.

Prior to both roles, Brennan served as the <a href="https://www.britannica.com/biography/John-Brennan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Director of The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) </a>from 2013 to 2017. His service and post-CIA career have been marred with controversies, including allegations of spying on political opponents, overseas clandestine operations, and incendiary comments towards conservatives and libertarians.

In 2014, the CIA was <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/itsallpolitics/2014/03/11/289085076/feinsteins-cia-outrage-splits-senate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused by California Senator Dianne Feinstein of illegally accessing the computers of Senate staffers</a> investigating the use of “enhanced interrogation” against detainees. <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2014/03/brennan-denies-claims-cia-hacked-senate-computers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brennan initially denied the allegations</a>, stating that, “Nothing could be further from the truth.” Brennan was later forced to apologize when an Inspector General report found that <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/technology/213933-cia-admits-to-wrongly-hacking-into-senate-computers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Senate computers were in fact “hacked” by CIA officials</a>.

Brennan has been accused of arming radical Islamists during the Syrian Civil War. As The American Conservative documents, <a href="https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/how-america-armed-terrorists-in-syria/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The CIA—under Brennan's direction—played a significant role in supplying deadly weapons to al-Qaeda affiliates</a> in an attempt to topple the Syrian dictator Bashar Al-Assad.

In his final years as CIA director, Brennan played a prominent role in what later became known as “Russiagate.” During the 2016 general election, intelligence agencies attempted to determine whether or not then-presidential candidate Donald Trump coordinated with the Russian Government to <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/cybersecurity/288883-wikileaks-posts-20000-dnc-emails" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hack and release sensitive emails from the Democratic National Committee</a>. Special Counsel Robert Mueller later found that there was <a href="https://www.dw.com/en/mueller-report-found-no-evidence-of-trump-russia-collusion-justice-dept/a-48046468" target="_blank" rel="noopener">no evidence of any coordination between the Trump Campaign and the Russian Government</a>.

While investigating Trump, John Brennan relied on allegations in what became known as the “Steele Dossier”— <a href="https://www.npr.org/2017/08/23/545289362/researcher-behind-unverified-trump-dossier-meets-senate-investigators" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a series of salacious allegations and potentially compromising information against Donald Trump</a> — compiled by British Intelligence agent Christopher Steele. The <a href="https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/09/steeles-dossier-source-was-a-suspected-russian-spy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">source for the dossier was later found to be a suspected Russian Spy,</a> who likely <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/453384-fbis-spreadsheet-puts-a-stake-through-the-heart-of-steeles-dossier" target="_blank" rel="noopener">exaggerated or falsified his information</a>.

Despite <a href="https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/442944-fbis-steele-story-falls-apart-false-intel-and-media-contacts-were-flagged" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agents flagging the information as false</a>, the Steele Dossier was later used as the basis to <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2019/12/09/ig-report-confirms-no-fisa-warrant-on-carter-page-without-steele-dossier/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">obtain warrants to surveil members of the Trump campaign</a>. Initially pushing to include the information, <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2019/12/09/brennan-lied-about-not-including-steele-dossier-in-intelligence-community-assessment-on-2016-russian-election-interference/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brennan later lied under congressional oath, stating he did not include the Steele Dossier in intelligence briefings</a>.

Declassified, handwritten notes from Brennan further show that he assisted in <a href="https://news.yahoo.com/dni-releases-cia-documents-hillary-204337457.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">efforts to tie the Trump campaign to Russia</a> to benefit the Hillary Clinton campaign. This is consistent with testimony accusing <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2020/05/12/fox-news-john-brennan-russia-hillary-clinton/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brennan of suppressing intelligence that the Russian Government wanted Hillary Clinton to win</a> the 2016 presidential election.

Brennan continued to publically attack President Trump after the 2016 election, accusing <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2018/08/19/brennan_on_sunday_i_stand_by_accusing_president_trump_of_treason.html#!" target="_blank" rel="noopener">him of “treason” against the United States on behalf of Russia</a>. Brennan <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2017/05/25/ex-cia-director-john-brennan-ive-seen-no-evidence-collusion-russia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">admits that he has seen no evidence that Donald Trump colluded</a> with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.

In an interview with MSNBC, Brennan <a href="https://www.msnbc.com/deadline-white-house/watch/fmr-cia-dir-brennan-republicans-will-continue-to-gaslight-the-country-101798469719" target="_blank" rel="noopener">remarks</a> that many conservatives make him “embarrassed to be a white man.”

Brennan has admitted in the past that he voted for the Communist Party in past elections. According to CNN, Brennan <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2016/09/15/politics/john-brennan-cia-communist-vote/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recounts</a> that he admitted to voting for the Communist Party Candidate, Gus Hall, in the 1976 general election. Brennan is reported <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2016/09/15/politics/john-brennan-cia-communist-vote/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stating</a> that voting for Hall was his way of “signaling his unhappiness of the system.”

As The Spectator <a href="https://spectator.org/john-brennans-president-remembering-comrade-gus-hall/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">documents</a>, Gus Hall was a four-time presidential candidate and leader of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). Throughout his career, Hall defended atrocities committed by the Soviet Union while secretly receiving tens of millions of dollars from the Kremlin.

Dr. Kevin Cokley is the <a href="https://education.utexas.edu/faculty/kevin_cokley" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Department Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology</a> as well as a Professor of African American Diaspora Studies and Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas - Austin. He is a Distinguished Teaching Professor and is published in many outlets, including Journal of Black Psychology, The Huffington Post, and The Hill. Dr. Cokley has taught many courses, some of which are Psychology of African American Experience and Multicultural Counseling.

Dr. Cokley is very openly pro-critical race theory. <a href="https://www.courierpress.com/story/opinion/2021/07/15/viewpoint-teaching-critical-race-theory-patriotic-not-anti-american/7982099002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">In an opinion piece for Courier &amp; Press</a>, Dr. Cokley claims that critical race theory is actually patriotic. He accuses conservatives of pushing a false narrative about critical race theory by claiming it’s “divisive, hostile, and anti-American… and teaches kids to hate each other” which is a “politicized misrepresentation.”

Later in the article, Dr. Cokley makes the claim that the first line of the U.S. Constitution, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union…” suggests that even our founders believed America is a work-in progress. According to him, critical race theory reminds us that this is still very true.

Dr. Cokley <a href="https://redstate.com/alexparker/2021/07/09/usa-today-runs-pro-critical-race-theory-piece-professor-says-crts-not-divisive-or-anti-american-n408847" target="_blank" rel="noopener">defines critical race theory</a> as an idea “which posits that racism is not simply acts of individual bias or prejudice, but rather is embedded in institutions, policies and legal systems.” While he states he has never explicitly taught critical race theory, he does teach ideas consistent with critical race theory by providing students with examples of how Black inferiority and racism are deeply woven into modern school practices. He asserts that conservatives who are against critical race theory are wanting to prevent any type of discussion around racism or putting America in a negative light. Dr. Cokley argues that there is nothing anti-American about acknowledging the fact that racism is woven into the fabric of the United States.

In June of 2021, Dr. Cokley appeared on a <a href="https://www.fox7austin.com/video/690219" target="_blank" rel="noopener">segment for Fox 7 News Austin</a> discussing racial injustices. The video shows violent riots after the death of George Floyd while Dr. Cokley justifies this behavior because of racial injustice in America. <a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/faculty/ciccariello-maher-george.php">Dr. George Ciccariello-Maher</a> is a Visiting Scholar of Decolonizing Humanities and Modern Languages and Literatures at the College of William and Mary. He previously taught in the Department of History and Politics at Drexel University.

From the College of William and Mary's website, his work at the Decolonizing Humanities Project is <a href="https://www.wm.edu/sites/dhp/decoloniality/index.php">described</a> as exploring, “how colonization, modernity, capitalism, and, most recently, neoliberalism has displaced an array of modes of living, thinking and being.  Decoloniality reveals “the dark side of modernity” and how it is built “on the backs” of “others.”

Ciccarello first came to notoriety for his racially inflammatory statements on twitter. On Christmas of 2016, he <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/philly/news/Drexel-officials-Professor-George-Ciccariello-Mahers-White-Genocide-tweet-was-utterly-reprehensible.html">tweeted</a> out,

“All I want for Christmas is White Genocide,”

and,

“To clarify: when the whites were massacred during the Haitian Revolution, that was a  good thing indeed.”

He also tweeted out,

“Some guy gave up his first-class seat for a uniformed soldier. People are thanking him. I’m trying not to vomit or yell about Mosul.”

When Ciccariello was confronted by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndkvgmGIQHQ">Tucker Carlson</a> over his tweets, he only proceeded to double-down. In the following exchange, he defended the academic veracity of his tweets by claiming, “performance art is scholarship.”

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from utilizing violence to accomplish his radical beliefs. In an op-ed for <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/05/04/riots_work_wolf_blitzer_and_the_washington_post_completely_missed_the_real_lesson_from_baltimore/">Salon</a>, he praised the riots that had engulfed Baltimore in 2015 in an article titled “Riots Work.” He wrote, “without the threat of insurgency in the streets, no charges would ever have been brought in the murder of Freddie Gray.” Obviously not a proponent of police, Ciccariello openly <a href="https://www.salon.com/2015/04/24/we_must_disband_the_police_body_cameras_arent_enough_only_radical_change_will_stop_cops_who_kill/">advocates</a> for the abolishment of police forces, describing them as, “originally slavecatchers.”

When not calling for the disbandment of our law enforcement, Ciccariello is an ardent defender of the socialist regime in Venezuela. He regularly <a href="https://www.counterpunch.org/2013/04/12/thatcher-is-dead-long-live-chavez/">praises</a> Hugo Chavez and has bizarrely <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhYz1owM-uA&amp;feature=youtu.be">claimed</a> that Venezuela does not have corrupt elections.

Ciccariello doesn’t shy away from violent groups as well. In order to fight white-nationalism, Ciccarello called on Americans to embrace the radical group ANTIFA in an interview with <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">Democracy Now</a> following the El Paso mass shooting. Although committed by a stated white nationalist, in the same interview Ciccariello placed the blame on Donald Trump for the deaths, claiming that his rhetoric on immigrants inspired the shooter’s rampage.  Ciccariello made similar accusations in a prior <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTv_hqjrmi8&amp;feature=youtu.be">interview</a> about the Texas Church Massacre, alluding that “whiteness” and Trump’s stoking of white victimhood was to blame for the murders.

In prior articles, Dr. Zach Furness alleges that white supremacy forms the basis for conservative and right-wing politics:

Dr. Furness urges Jews and white people—or “white Jews in particular”—to stand in solidarity with BLM as the accusations are a nefarious attempt by conservatives to frame all black Americans as a threat to their safety.

The founder of BLM—Patrisse Cullors—calls for the <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/05/30/blm-co-founder-called-to-end-imperialist-project-of-israel/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complete dismantlement of the state of Israel</a>.
During one protest, BLM <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8704827/Anti-racism-protester-struck-CAR-Rochester.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rioters began assaulting diners at a restaurant while yelling, “F*** the white people!”</a> Another BLM leader has <a href="https://www.westernjournal.com/blm-leader-exposed-called-whites-sub-human-genetically-defective-said-blacks-superhumans/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">referred to white people as “genetically defective</a>.”

<a href="https://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/degrees-and-certificates/international-politics-bachelors/faculty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Christopher Cook </a>is a faculty member in the Department of International Politics at Pennsylvania State University - World Campus. During one of his courses, students were assigned to write why the Taliban is not a terrorist organization.

The assignment—provided exclusively to the Professor Watchlist by an anonymous source—is part of the course, “The Politics of Terrorism,” or PLSC 439. The syllabus states the following as  the goal for the class,

“The guiding thread for this course is, "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." These words were first written by Gerald Seymour in his 1975 fictional book, Harry's Game, about a British cabinet minister killed by an Irish Republican Army (IRA) assassin. The goal of this class is to better understand how this quote is a microcosm for the study of terrorism in general-- what causes it and, by extension how to confront it.”

Following the initial lecture, the first assignment tasks students with writing an essay explaining why the Taliban is NOT, nor has ever been, a terrorist group. Dr. Cook further threatens to designate a failing grade to any student who deviates from his topic.

In one page* explain why the Taliban is have [sic] not and are still not a terrorist organization.  

You are not allowed to answer this question in any other way. Any attempt to avoid this prompt as written; or trying to argue otherwise will result in a failing grade. If you have any questions on the pedagogy behind this assignment– please contact me.”

<a href="https://www.sia.psu.edu/faculty/hatemi">Dr. Peter Hatemi</a>, a Professor of Political Science at Penn State, stated that conservatives express more issues of psychoticism, which he defined as " uncooperative, hostile, troublesome, and socially withdrawn, but lack feelings of inferiority and have an absence of anxiety. At the extremes, those scoring high on P are manipulative, tough-minded, and practical." He also claims that the counterparts of these conservatives [the left] is more likely to be altruistic, well socialized, empathic, and conventional. However upon review he accidentally switched data points around and should have labeled liberals with the adjectives he labeled conservatives with. Presented with this information, he claimed that it did not change his conclusion.

<a href="https://sociology.la.psu.edu/people/smr8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Sam Richards</a> is a Teaching Professor of Sociology at <a href="https://www.psu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pennsylvania State University</a>. He is known for his racially laden diatribes delivered to students during his lectures.

Dr. Richards is most prominently known for teaching SOC119, or “Race and Ethnic Relations”. The class is <a href="https://www.soc119.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly the “largest race and cultural relations course in the United States,</a>” according to the official site. Dr. Richards also streams his lectures live, with over 57,000 subscribers on Youtube as of August 2021.

The course addresses relevant racial, political, and cross-cultural issues amongst young adults. Classes consist of Dr. Richards facilitating discussions for students to confront and examine viewpoints contrary to their own.

However, lectures typically devolve into racial and politically biased tirades. Dr. Richards frequently accuses white students of harboring racial animus, alleges that white supremacy is embedded in American culture, and accuses American Christians of seeking to overthrow the government.

In one lecture, titled “White Discomfort,” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKTUG02kTTg&amp;ab_channel=SOC119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Richards selects a black and white student and asks them to stand in front of the class</a>. Claiming that racial equality does not exist, he proceeds to position both students abreast of one another before yelling, “They are not f****** equal!”

In another class, titled “Christian Sharia,” Dr. Richards spends over an hour <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmzDnulSV_g&amp;ab_channel=SOC119" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lecturing on the threat he perceives Christians pose to the country.</a> At one point, when displaying a picture of a Muslim man holding a sign that reads, “Behead Those That Insult Islam,” he proceeds to claim, “You can’t find that anywhere in the Koran….I know that you can find it in the Bible.”

Later in the same lecture, he accuses Vice President Mike Pence of being a religious extremist on par with that of the Taliban.

In a lecture delivered in <a href="https://campusreform.org/article?id=17832" target="_blank" rel="noopener">March of 2021 and captured by Campus Reform</a>, Dr. Richards selects a white student, Brian, from the audience for a class exercise. He proceeds to ask Brian who he oppressed that day. After the student replied that he hadn’t oppressed anybody, Dr. Richards retorts that since Brian has “left his house” and “is breathing”, that, as a white person, he must have oppressed somebody that day. As of August 2021, Dr. Richards has disabled comments or unlisted many of his videos following publicity of his lectures.

The main site for SOC119 mandates that regardless of vaccination status, students will have to wear masks while attending class.

<a href="https://ed.psu.edu/directory/dr-edward-j-fuller" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dr. Edward J. Fuller</a> is an Assistant Professor of Education at <a href="https://www.psu.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pennsylvania State University</a>. On his personal Twitter account, Dr. Fuller called for drunk drivers to run over unvaccinated parents.

The Tweet was a response to school-choice activist <a href="https://twitter.com/DeAngelisCorey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Corey A. DeAngelis's</a> opposition to mandatory masking in schools. In his reply, Dr. Fuller asked why parents have the right to endanger children by refusing to enforce mandatory masking. He then appeared to suggest that people with masks should drive while under the influence and run over “pro-covid” parents who oppose mask restrictions, as it is their freedom to do so.

<a href="https://africana.sas.upenn.edu/people/anthea-butler">Anthea Butler</a> is an Associate Professor of Africana and Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as Interim Chair of the Department of Religious Studies.

Butler advocates for professors to strike on the job in order to promote social justice causes. First tweeting her support for an NBA-style <a href="https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/emotional-frustrated-raptors-discussed-boycott-wake-jacob-blake-shooting/">strike</a> to protest “police violence,” Butler then created her own strike aimed at school and university staff called “Scholar Strike.”  <a href="https://www.scholarstrike.com/">Instructing</a> professors and faculty members of colleges and universities to walk out of their positions and teaching duties for two days, Scholar Strike intends to “call awareness to the racial climate in America, and the rash [sic] of police shootings and racialized violence.” As a result, hundreds of academics <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2020/08/28/professors-plan-strike-racial-justice">pledged</a> to join the strike.
In a 2020 Twitter thread, Butler also <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=15673">describes</a> conservatives as “craven and evil.” She levels <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/ivy-league-professor-award-carson-coon-of-the-year">attacks</a> against Dr. Ben Carson as the  “the coon of the year” over comments he made regarding the confederate flag. <a href="https://www.britannica.com/biography/Ben-Carson">Dr. Ben Carson</a> is a renowned neurosurgeon who served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump Administration.
Butler believes that conservative candidates continue to receive support en masse from evangelicals due to fear. <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/white-evangelicals-love-trump-aren-t-confused-about-why-no-ncna1046826">Writing</a> for NBC News, Butler accuses conservatives of voting in order to preserve what political power they still have. Historically a dominant force, Butler states, evangelicals turn to authoritarians like Trump in order to protect themselves from societal change. She continues, stating that this is not a unique phenomenon, as Evangelicals have a long history of supporting racist movements and institutions.
The core of Butler’s popular authorship is her allegations of the overlap between evangelicalism and white supremacy, having written a book entitled, <a href="https://uncpress.org/book/9781469661179/white-evangelical-racism/">White Evangelical Racism</a> explaining this indictment. Interviewing on “Act. tv,” she <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMZpsrYGLeA&amp;ab_channel=act.tv">claims</a> that the history of Christianity in the United States is interwoven with the institution of slavery and support of the Ku Klux Klan.
During the same interview, Butler claims that evangelicals believe that that police are “ordained” by God to kill black people;

<a href="https://africana.sas.upenn.edu/people/anthea-butler">Anthea Butler</a> is an Associate Professor of Africana and Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as Interim Chair of the Department of Religious Studies.

Butler advocates for professors to strike on the job in order to promote social justice causes. First tweeting her support for an NBA-style <a href="https://www.sportsnet.ca/nba/article/emotional-frustrated-raptors-discussed-boycott-wake-jacob-blake-shooting/">strike</a> to protest “police violence,” Butler then created her own strike aimed at school and university staff called “Scholar Strike.”  <a href="https://www.scholarstrike.com/">Instructing</a> professors and faculty members of colleges and universities to walk out of their positions and teaching duties for two days, Scholar Strike intends to “call awareness to the racial climate in America, and the rash [sic] of police shootings and racialized violence.” As a result, hundreds of academics <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2020/08/28/professors-plan-strike-racial-justice">pledged</a> to join the strike.

In a 2020 Twitter thread, Butler also <a href="https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=15673">describes</a> conservatives as “craven and evil.” She levels <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/ivy-league-professor-award-carson-coon-of-the-year">attacks</a> against Dr. Ben Carson as the  “the coon of the year” over comments he made regarding the confederate flag. <a href="https://www.britannica.com/biography/Ben-Carson">Dr. Ben Carson</a> is a renowned neurosurgeon who served as the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under the Trump Administration.

Butler believes that conservative candidates continue to receive support en masse from evangelicals due to fear. <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/white-evangelicals-love-trump-aren-t-confused-about-why-no-ncna1046826">Writing</a> for NBC News, Butler accuses conservatives of voting in order to preserve what political power they still have. Historically a dominant force, Butler states, evangelicals turn to authoritarians like Trump in order to protect themselves from societal change. She continues, stating that this is not a unique phenomenon, as Evangelicals have a long history of supporting racist movements and institutions.

The core of Butler’s popular authorship is her allegations of the overlap between evangelicalism and white supremacy, having written a book entitled, <a href="https://uncpress.org/book/9781469661179/white-evangelical-racism/">White Evangelical Racism</a> explaining this indictment. Interviewing on “Act. tv,” she <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMZpsrYGLeA&amp;ab_channel=act.tv">claims</a> that the history of Christianity in the United States is interwoven with the institution of slavery and support of the Ku Klux Klan.

During the same interview, Butler claims that evangelicals believe that that police are “ordained” by God to kill black people;

In a <a href="https://twitter.com/AntheaButler/status/1351922696989380609">tweet</a> from January of 2021, Butler repeated a claim from the same book that racism is inherent in evangelicals.

In 2013, Butler went as far as to claim that a “white-racist” is the god <a href="https://antheabutler.com/americas-racist-god/">worshipped</a> by this country.
